We stayed here at part of a Rick Steves tour, and it was nice enough (and that shouldn't be taken as a negative). It's inexpensive and the service was good. It has A/C and our room was right over the entrance looking to the minaret (which you can climb). The hotel sort of sprawls in a lot of directions and many rooms are conversions that worked well. There is a pool in the courtyard (an above ground one that isn't too big and wasn't heated much but felt good). The breakfast room in in a kind of basement but it was spacious and offered quite a lot of food. The front desk people were good.
As for it's location, it's perfect. It was no more than about 3 blocks to the heart of the city plaza... and everything in the core of Eger is close to everything else.
