A reasonably priced 5* hotel in the heart of Budapest!! The bathroom was lovely, the shower was powerful. The pillows were devine. The best night sleep in a very long time! Heart of the city as well. We didn't get chance to use the facilities but they looked great

This is a beautiful hotel. The lobby and the restaurants are beautiful and the guest rooms are very nice. However, I did not like the location at all. To me it is too far from the Danube. Also, I have never had to wait so late to be able to check in to a hotel. It was almost 4 PM... More

There are employees in the front desk that dont understand english, and lack training to use their system. We had to call a couple of times to get are luggage in our room. The air condition of our room didnt work. Our bath floor was not clean. Our bath light didnt work. The food in the New York restaurant was... More

This historic building was formerly a NY Life insurance office building and has since converted to a fabulous hotel. People come just to see this hotel's fabulous interior. Rooms and service are incredible with great attention to detail. Great location too but not on the busy Danube. Try the breakfast for a treat.

Beautiful hotel in Budapest, amazing exterior, clearly inspired by Beaux Arts architecture. A doorman in a top hat waits to greet you as you arrive and to take your luggage. Beautiful spacious rooms and lovely bathrooms, beautiful spa A true luxury! would go back again and again!

Arrived very late but we're checked in immediately with excellent staff. Room was great - lovely soft beds with high quality bedding lots of lights and plug sockets. The bathroom had a bit of a weird shower thing going on - it was hand held which was less than ideal, but functional and the bath is very deep (so heads... More

The hotel is located a bit out of the main downtown area, but within easy walking distance. It is handy for the Kazinczy Street in the old Jewish Quarter as well as a short stroll from Andrassy Street. The building itself is a gem, and entering into the lobby is breathtaking - the New York cafe off to the left... More

A large luxury hotel a little away from the center. Built by the New York Life Insurance as a local head office in 1875, it was renovated 10 years ago. Its Cafe in the ground floor is impressive as the reception. The restaurant is overpriced. Perfect service and room.

Pure luxury! Rooms were superb. Staff were fantastic and its the home of the legendary New York Cafe. Great district - near to the hipster ruin bars and within walking distance to all the riverside attractions.

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
