I stayed in this hotel many many times. However many people claim the opposite, it isn't far from the town centre at all: 7km. But the Budapest traffic can be horrible. If you know your way, it is quite easy to find, just follow the Duna border all the time. The kitchen is good, I tried about everything and never... more

We arrived there at midnight and if it wasn't for my sat nav I may have given up about 300 metres away. The last 300 metres is a little off-putting as you seem to be just heading on to a railway siding under a road bridge. But a right turn and a few hundred metres got us there. We liked... more

we've booked for a double room for 2 nights on the 25th and 27th of July 2008. The first problem that struck us was the location of the hotel. It took us 3 hours to get to the hotel from the Keleti train station. We didn't take an taxi since we have found the direction to the hotel on the... more

At the airport of Budapest it started already with waiting for the transport to the Hotel, after more than 1/2 an hour the owner came personally, to pick us up. Then he told us the Botel was overbooked and we had to stay for 1 night in another place, he showed it in a prospect and it didn't look too... more

This is our second visit to the Lisa. The first was in late summer and the area is excellent to rest and recuperate in after a longhot day touristing in the city. It is easily accessible by public transport and a weekly pass for all transport is about £10 ( jan, 2008). There is a steep set of stairs from... more

I organised a 10 person long weekend Friday to Monday on 23rd to 26th November in Hotel Botel Lisa. Firstly it is not 10 minutes from the city centre Secondly the restaurant was closed on two out of the three evenings with two private parties and we had to eat out in the reception area, which was both cold and... more

This hotel is in the middle of nowhere, with no public transport. It claims to be ten minutes from the city, in a nature reserve. It is 40 minutes by taxi from the city centre, and the nature reserve is actually an area of scrubland dotted with derelict offices. Our evening taxi driver turfed us out of the car, locked... more

Got the whole trip for a steal by booking quite early this year. Had doubts after reading reviews, but in the finish, loved it. Well out of town by some 3 to 4 miles or so, but accessible by buses (2) to the centre. Situated downriver on the Danube in a kind of suburban/semi-industrial area, but tranquil setting we found.... more

Botel Lisa is not going to be everyones cup of tea. Firstly, as the name suggests, it is a boat, and while it doesn't bob up and down the rooms are a bit small. Secondly, it is not in the city centre, but on the Danube a little way out. However, if you can cope with these two things then... more
