This hostel was in a perfect location and exceeded my expectations. Felt more like we had rented an apartment more so than staying in a hostel. Beds were very comfy and the shower was amazing, Would 100% stay here again.

Stayed here for 2 nights with friends and had a great time. The staff were great, very helpful and of course they cooked us no less than 100 pancakes for the guest, all for free! Rooms were big and had real beds (no bunk beds for once). Place was really clean too. There was a big kitchen with everything you... More

I had specifically chose this place due to its location. My bus arrived in the middle of the night I wanted a place that was central and easy access. The hostel is right above the metro, which means as soon I got off the bus I can jump on the metro and I'm minutes from a bed. There are plenty... More

We stayed in a 3 bedroom, with shared kitchen and bathroom, balcony over looking the street. It was perfect, we made so many friends and had the best time ever! Location was fab and the staff at reception were just so helpful, they had all the answers to everything we needed and were happy to help! Everything was very clean... More

The location is very good, Room and toilet very clean, parking for motorbike, the only problem was that we had to change place and go 500-600 meter from main place, which was problem with luggage helmet, boots etc .... out of that good ration price/quality.

Amazing price, amazing place - That's the summery of my thoughts from the Astoria City Hostel. It bothers me to say hostel because it was too good to be a hostel. First of all, it's location is amazing, just the center of the city and right next to the subway station and many other cafes bars etc. We stayed at... More

We went here because of it's great location. There were 3 of us so they just put a pretty bad bunk bed into a 2 bedroom apartment. Also at night it got insanely hot (in april), there was no way of controlling the heat and the windows faced the loud streets. Staff was very friendly even though we got wrong... More

Just spent an amazing two nights in this hostel. If you're looking for a safe, clean and comfortable place to stay Astoria is your go-to place. The location is simply ideal only about 5 minutes from the main square of budapest! The staff could not be more friendly. They really made us feel at home and were so helpful when... More

The staff are pleasant and helpful people. Once I lost the key from my appartment, I had to pay extra 10 EUR for a new one. However, later they found it and immediately returned my money. The location is excellent! Fully recommend this one for those on a budget! P.S. The location is not be confused with the hotel Astoria,... More

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
