Stayed alone in budapest for 3 nights. The hotel is not horrible, but is not pretty. Service is terrible, first night (after traveling for more than 24 hours) there was a wedding in the hotel and the music was all over the place until more than 4 am, when I asked when would they stopped, recepcionist, not even looking at... This is not in central Budapest - it is in Kelenfold. Luckily the metro has recently been extended to here, but it is at the very opposite end of the line to the central station. The value for money was incredible- around 7 euros each a night including breakfast (which as you might expect at that price was not a... More

Looking for somewhere to stay that's cheap, reasonably clean and you don't mind a 50min walk or 20min tram ride (about £1:20 each way) into the centre of the city then Hotel Griff's for you. The hotel is perfect if you want to explore the lovely city of Budapest on a budget....if you're looking for a romantic weekend away with... More

Let me make this simple: the rooms were filthy, the tv didn't even turn on and the 'hot tub' was cold and only useable for 15 minutes per day. It is not anywhere close to the city center. But, it was dirt cheap.

On the whole Hotel Griff is what you'd expect from a 3 star hotel. Its a place to sleep and shower, and that's about it. However, even so there are a few issues that I want to point out: - The room was not properly cleaned when we arrived. There were empty chips bags under the bed, and I assume... More

Stayed here while attending a conference in Budapest. Living in Europe, I know what to expect. The room was big enough and clean, as was the bathroom. The room was cleaned daily and towels replaced daily. The breakfast is the usual European fare.

Not sure if maybe I went in expecting worst because of the reviews, but it seemed alright. Sheets were clean, towels were clean, washroom was clean. I mean sure not a 5 star hotel but its good. Staff wasn't extra friendly but neither rude.

I will start with the positive things first. The room was ok with a big bathroom and was cleaned every day. The hotel has a restaurant in which someone can have a full lunch or dinner with appetizer, main course and dessert for around 8 euros. If someone comes to Budapest by car there is a very handy and big... More

Hotel is ok, the sheets are clean, toilet not so much, there is a lot of dust in the rooms. But if you are looking for a hotel just to sleep and have a breakfast, which is good, than this is ok hotel. Good value for price. And the + is the tram station just in front of the hotel

Don't really know what I expected, but this place didn't match it. I haven't stayed in many hotels in the Eastern Europe, so I had no idea what to expect, but bottom line is that three stars over there quite obviously don't translate to three stars in the Western parts. The Griff wasn't "nasty", it was just old, worn and..... More
