I stayed in room 2217. the room was not a luxurious one but was clean. Some times it was bit warm and there is no AC in the room or there is no fans . One of the majore problem was there was no lift for the first and second floor. it will be difficult to carry the luggage upstairs.... More

Hotel is old, dirty, very poor and doesn't equals the money it costs. Staff is somehow friendly, but even instead of an upgrade (I booked a 2** Bara Junior and was hosted in the main building) it was still a catastrophe. There's no shampoo in the bath, only 1 piece of soap. Ceiling in the bathroom was covered with mildew.... More

'Enjoy your stay'... The room was nothing like I saw on the moment of booking. It was awful, old, smelled bad, the sheets were dirty and so were the towels. No TV, air conditioner, mini-bar,not even a lamp!!! Disgusting baths, dirty and also smelled bad. No wi-fi in the room and it barely worked in the lobby. At the check-in... More

Good for the price, the breakfast is simple and the rooms are clean. The staff on the other hand are not particularly friendly and they did not give back my deposit for the room keycards. Wifi barely works in the rooms and lobby. If you order a room try to get one facing away from the road. The highway in... More

Stayed 3 nights in a room for 1 on the 3rd floor or Bara 3 star hotel mid summer July. - small room but okay - no fan and no ac (very sweaty in the room each morning, ice cold showers taken to alleviate through the night) - comfy bed (i have a sore neck; mattress was firm and supporting)... More

Unfriendly staff, no way of calling the reception and WE GOT ROBBED!!! Someone entered our room and stole our money. I wouldn't recommend this hotel even if someone paid me to. WiFi only on the "lobby" and they turned it off at night when I was sending an important email. I can go on and write a bible of bad... More

This was the second time we spent a single night in the Bara hotel in Budapest. The last time the stay has been ok. Unfortunately this time, the stay has been horrible! Firtst, a general feedback on the hotel itself: - Rooms are small and would need some new paint - The bed sheets were old, but clean - the... More

We made last minite booking to Bara Junior. When we arrived late in the night , we were very welcomed and got the room in 3 star Bara instead of 2 star Junior. The mini bar was packed with drinks at reasonable price, the breakfast was rich and the staff was polite and helpful. The room was small but very... More

We booked the hotel as it was reasonably priced and Although we thought it would be basic we hoped it would be clean. When we arrived the room was depressing, there was a bad smell, a used cotton bud on the floor and the duvet meant for a double bed was probably a single!! When we asked to move room... More

I have stayed in the Bara hotel during 3 nights in a 3 bedded room. My room was on a fifth floor, that is, penthouse. There is very very small elevator that reaches only 4th floor, so if you have some big luggage, be aware of that fact. Rooms are cute and cozy. Furniture is a bit outdated, but it... More

Staying in Gellert Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Gellert Hill
If you want to treat your camera to some amazing scenery, Gellért Hill is a must on your itinerary. A funicular journey from the Chain Bridge along the hillsides provides a fast connection between Buda and Pest, hoisting visitors to panoramic vistas. Once on top of the hill, you’ll find the Citadel dominate the landscape with its imposing 19th century construction, a site that’s hard to keep your eyes on without being distracted by the phenomenal view over the Danube and the eight bridges crossing. Once on Gellért Hill however, one mustn’t miss the famous Gellért Baths. Budapest is renown for its thermal waters and its baths, and the Gellért Baths are housed in an impressive art nouveau structure. Its interior design, with its many mosaics, recalls the preceding relationships the city has had with healing springs and saunas, traditionally used within this neighborhood since the Ottoman Empire.
