There is a laid back 'party vibe' here. Room was okay, a bit of noise but I've had worse. The living room was nice with a projector for watching films. Chilled with the owner and met a few cool people. Bed linen could probably do with being replaced, a few suspicious stains! I didn't go on any of the nights... More

Great experience! It's like an open big house where all the people can easily have new friends! The atmosphear was really relaxed and save. N.B: I would suggest this hostel only for young people or for who want to really have new friends in town: the room are always crowded, but not in the negative aspect of the word. Bathroom... More

It was our very first hostel so understandably we were anxious/worried to experience this for the first time. In the end we both agreed that it was the best experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with any questions or requests we had. Free small breakfast in the morning. Dinner for less than $3. The privacy curtains on the... More

The staff were unwelcoming and unorganized from the start . When we first arrived they charged us a lot more for the room than what we were supposed to pay, we had little choice but to pay it due to the time of arrival and the fact we were unlikely to find another place for our short stay of 4... Stayed here for 3 nights and had a great time. The nights out they organise are really good fun and the staff were good fun too. The curtains around the beds are a great idea for privacy and the Beagle strolling around all day completes the hostel. Great fun and friendly atmosphere.

Please don't get biased by rigged good ratings by travellers of this hostel - avoid it at all costs. If you analyse , the good reviews are all by what travel sites refer to as 'Novices'. Don't spoil a beautiful budapest experience - there are better and cheaper hostels even in the same area. I have backpacked 80 countries and possibly... More

We (a group of 4 girls) have just returned from a long weekend here. We chose it because of the great price and good reviews, and were not disappointed. The staff were friendly but also organised - with details of the day's activities put up every morning. Each night there are drinking games and a night out, with the option... More

Funnest place to stay in Budapest. Games and things to do every night, but also the ability to have privacy with wifi and curtains in your room. It was really easy to meet people, I knew a guy for 5 minutes and we already decided to go to a museum together. One thing I loved is that you have hooks... More

I was in Budapest for 6 days, as its one of the few main European cities I hadn't visited yet and I heard great things about it from friends. Hi5 "party'ish" hostel was the perfect choice for my stay there, for the following reasons: - The staff is very helpful, and instantly welcomes you as friends rather than customers. -... More

We planned our trip to budapest for just two days, so we only had one night at Hi-5 but wish we could've stayed longer. Even in a 10 bed dorm, there was enough room, lockers and mirrors, the staff is awesome and wants to know everyone who checks in and does pub crawls and plans parties and dinners and such.... More
