My trip started in mid September 2008.The hotel was in a very central location close to the Danube River and accessible to shopping and dining. Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was a good size, clean with crisp bed linens and a lovely bathroom with a bath tub. My only complaint was the air conditioning did not cool... more

We stayed for two nights at Hotel Erzsebet with a tour group. A triple room was located on the street side on the 7th floor. Although I thought it would be far enough away from street noise, that was not the case. Presently, there is road construction contributing along with car traffic preventing any chance of leaving a window opened.... more

I recently stayed 5 nights at the Erzsebet and I am very happy with my choice. The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable. The room was very hot but the quiet and efficient air conditioning dealt with it effectively. It was amazingly quiet for a central city hotel. No traffic noise at all even with the window open.... more

I can't really fault the Hotel Erzsebet in the Belvaros central district of Pest. Clean, comfortable, convenient and (despite the dour reputation imputed by some other reviews on tripadvisor) almost convivial - perhaps the breakfasts were a bit repetitive but aren't they always? Budapest itself was, I thought, a little disappointing in 2 respects. Firstly I was (perhaps wrongly) expecting... more

This hotel was a little dated but very comfortable with pleasant, helpful staff. There was a vast selection for breakfast - hot and cold foods to suit all requirements. It was an excellent base for sightseeing (being on the Pest) side of the city. But Buda on the other side of the Danube is not so far away. Over the... more

Friendly staff and clean, average rooms all close to the centre make this a good value stay. The breakfast was average and could be better. The room was quiet, located at the back of the hotel and comfortable. more

For background, I went there expecting an average hotel and for a work trip. My stay was 4 nights. Overall, I can't think of anything negative to say about this hotel. The location is good - minutes from the metro and shops, bars, and the Danube. The road it's on never felt overly busy. The rooms were basic and non-descript... more

If you are looking for an average 3* hotel in a city centre for a few nights stay then this hotel would be OK. The rooms are clean and comfortable but like many other guests we found the room too warm and because we were on the street side if you opened the window the traffic was very noisy. The... more

OVERBOOKING Upon arrival, my husband and I were told that the Hotel had overbooked by 14 rooms, and shunted us off to a twin room and offered to "move the beds together" for us. They were not prepared to offer us any compensation for their mix-up as "what internet companies do, is out of our control". My husband and I... more

My friend and I stayed at Hotel Erzsebet last week for two nights. Nice, clean, comfortable lobby Pleasant enough staff (nice bellman, desk staff serious, neither super friendly nor unfriendly) Clean room, small but adequate, big mirror over desk so one person can use the bathroom to dry hair while another gets ready in the room Nice bathroom, great shower,... more
