When we arrived at the hotel we were quite concerned to see that there were building works going on and there was no apparent reception or anyone to greet us. We walked around the building twice and were starting to panic, when a member of staff saw us and came outside. He explained that the hotel renovations had taken longer... More

We were offered free upgrade to spacious 2 room apartment with balcony - really nice offer. Location is very good if you like to explore city by foot or using public transport (by foot : Pest city centre 20min, Old Buda area 10min, Citadel 10mins..) Bus stop in front of the hotel. If you arrive by car good option is... More

We travelled as part of a group of 24 adults and occupied 12 rooms. We stayed for 3 nights and for a cheap city break it was ok. Its located on the buda side of the Danube on a really busy main road but only 10 to 15 mins walk to the river and across to the Pest side. The... More

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. The good points: We were happy with our rooms, which were of a good size and had good en-suite shower rooms. They were cleaned to a fairly good standard and the towels were changed daily. Room 34, a double, overlooked a side road. We were concerned that the air-conditioning might keep us... More

OK, first of all you will see this hotel as a 4 star Hotel. I have no idea who gave them these 4 stars. It is more like a hostel, not even a hotel. the 4 bed rooms are located outside of the hotel in some kind of separate house without any reception. the whole place was under construction when... More

Please accept our apologies for all inconvenience caused by the reconstruction works of our main building. Fortunately we succeed to complete all work and our main building looks more wonderful than ever. Reading your review I found that you booked an apartment, which is located in a separate building. We did not have any reconstruction works there. The following information... More

Stayed for 3 nights, the hotel is under going some renovations but they did not disrupt our stay and once they are finished then the hotel will look very nice indeed. The bad points.. The air con in the room was just not powerful enough. The breakfast was fairly standard fayre Just that too far away from the city centre... More

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights. When we arrived we found the hotel was having huge renovations outside- not a welcoming sight. We did find the hotel staff helpful and polite though. Our room was a fair size, however it was like a sauna! We had booked a room with air con, thus when queried this were... More

Thank You for your feedback with detailed comments. It is true, we have some outside renovations, which is not always welcoming. New stairs, new terrace, new windows. I did my best to show the renovation dates on all online sites, I am sorry if it was not clear for you. The renovation will be finished in July. The new windows... More

Spent three nights in Gold Hotel Buda, the hotel staff was very helpful with good english. The room was nice and the bathroom clean. The worst thing about this hotel was unfortunately food - the breakfast was quite poor and same every day, it didn't taste very well and the vegetable was not fresh. We were disappointed about the public... More

This hotel on the Buda side of the Danube is ideally placed for visiting the Castle and the Old Town and Gellert Hill. It is also on a handy bus route to get over to the Pest side. The Hotel is quite small but is very comfortable. Our room was lovely and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom was clean... More

Spent three nights (long weekend) in Gold Buda, with wife and two other couples. Very tidy rooms, good breakfast and good location, and all of this in very reasonable price.
