I was looking for somewhere friendly, quiet, clean and comfortable and not expensive near to Varosliget. For me, Star City Hotel ticked all the boxes. I had a lovely big room with a very powerful shower. It was very basically furnished but kept spotlessly clean. There was gorgeous bread at breakfast which is very important to me. All of the... Good choice for short stays and as it is good place for exploration - within 15 minutes walk you can find a shopping centre, museums, historical buildings and restaurants. Staff is polite a very helpful. For a wider menu for the breakfast you should go a bit earlier, but the food is good.

Average looks and average service, but just about right at this price point. Generously-sized, clean rooms (at least mine was), good breakfast, convenient location if you want to reach the metro or Keleti Station. Otherwise unremarkable bland city hotel for both business and tourist travellers.

Id like to award this hotel more than 3 stars as it has a lot of good stuff going for it. The location is great for exploring this wonderful city, its well priced for what it offers, the rooms are clean and comfortable, fantastic shower in the bathroom that would take the skin off your back and finally the staff... A recent 4 night stay gave us a good sized room with bed, wardrobe system and tv table. A hair dryer was available at no extra charge. The bathroom had a walk in shower and plenty of hot water. The fixtures and fittings were quite basic but the room was comfortable. The reception area and dining room were nicely decorated... More

Room was so small, you could seriously not open the door more than 1/3 without hitting the bed. Windows opened to area where workers go to smoke and talk. even with the windows closed the smoke drifts in along with the workers conversations. Bathroom was tiny, with soap and shampoo being one in the same. (A handcleaner dispenser on the... More

And shove something down before going out. The one thing I liked in particular is the 4m high ceiling in the room. So there was a lot of fresh air at night. The location is good. Metro and trolley to all parts of town within 2-3 minute walk. Several local pubs within 100 meters so you can hang out with... More

I stayed in this hotel with my boyfriend for 7 nights. I can't say that it was totally bad, but we had an awkward start, we had to change room after the first night. The new room wasn't completely cleen, the pillows were on the floor, and they were with some weird yellow spots.. The sink was full of black... More

This three star hotel does not comply with the services it technically offers. Even though the staff is wonderfully friendly, the hotel's installations are more than lacking. The carpet floor is dirty as are the walls. The air conditioning worked on and off and, when the cistern in our bathroom broke down, they refused to change our room nor do... More

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
