Elegant and efficient hotel. The staff were fantastic throughout our stay. The concierge suggested and booked some great restaurants for us in the evenings and acquired tickets for us for attractions and the opera. We only had breakfast in the hotel one day, it was great with plenty of options (and sparkling wine should you want it) - we sat in... More

I must admit the hotel is great. Staff is professional and helpful, rooms are spacious and beds are so comfortable that you make every excuse not to wake up. Breakfast is really sumptuous (exactly as they advertise it). The owners made a fantastic job while renovating it - it harmonises old elegance with modern elements with taste. But its true... More

Very beautiful building with a very nice Spa (Jugendstil). The rooms are big, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast buffet is very good but expensive. Location is good but not in front of the Donau. The restaurant nearby (Bocks Bistro) is awesome!

The rooms were quite nice at this hotel, large and well appointed. Internet was fast and free. Most rooms open into the atrium, but for the most part, these are nice and quiet. The spa and pool area is amazing, you can spend hours there, between the hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and the stunning main pool. Easy walk to... More

We stayed for three nights on a honeymoon city break and I can honestly say this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The hotel itself is breath-taking in its beauty, the staff are helpful, friendly and efficient and the food in the brasserie is mouth-wateringly good - not to mention very reasonably priced for a hotel of... A gorgeous lobby, a beautiful and spacious room with all the amenities of a 5 star hotel, and warm service. Our room faced the atrium and was extremely quiet. The large marble bathroom has a great soaking tub, which I loved. The concierge was helpful and extremely efficient - making restaurant reservations and providing suggestions for transportation. Budapest is a... More

Hotel Class:5 star — Corinthia Hotel Budapest 5*
Official Description (provided by the hotel):
First opened in 1896 as the Grand Hotel Royal; a hub for the elite of nineteenth century society, and painstakingly restored to its original glory some hundred years later, the Corinthia Budapest – located in the heart of the city - brings together classic hotel opulence with the finest five-star luxury of modern times. While the gracious frontage, marble floors, sweeping staircase and breathtaking, six-story Atrium preserved from the original building offer glorious hints of a bygone age, the levels of comfort and convenience are all reassuringly up to date.A particular feature is the hotel’s original Royal Spa centre, with 15-metre pool, now extensively refurbished by the current owners to reflect the very best in 21st-century spa luxury while retaining the grandeur of the past. Without doubt the finest hotel in Budapest. Built in classic French Renaissance style, the Grand Royal became a beacon of luxury in the days of Emperor Franz Joseph 1. Designed as a centrepiece of Hungary’s celebrations to mark its first thousand years, the hotel’s grand-style architecture and unrivaled guest facilities were seen as state-of the art for the times. Much of the building was destroyed in the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and despite re-opening in more modest form in the 1960’s, the Grand Royal remained a shadow of its former self until the 1990’s; when new owners Corinthia Hotels gave the green light for an extensive restoration project that would retain the best of the old, while sensitively adding the new. Once restored to its original splendour, the newly named Corinthia Hotel Budapest re-opened its doors, as a five-star luxury property, in 2003. ... more   less
