I have stayed at the Danubius Hotel Gellert a couple of times. The exterior and common areas have a real charm and a lot of money has recently been spent in returning the exterior to its old splendour. Its a pity though that they hadn't thought to spend some money on renovating the rooms. I stayed in a single room... more

This is a wonderful old hotel, opened in 1918 and full of original Art Nouveau character. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a tiny balcony overlooking the river and, bizzarely, with steps up to a mezzanine inside the room to reach one of the beds. The famous hotel baths are free to use for residents, so this is a... more

We stayed here for 4 nights, front desk staff was very helpful, rooms were OK, nothing special, good location on a trolley line. The fact that the baths were included was a plus. Would recommend it but warn people that it is not a new hotel more

Stayed here for 4 nights in a standard double room which said had a patio view. We were expecting this to be out back somewhere but to our delight tuns out to be at the front overlooking the river Danube, fantastic!. Standing on the balcony of our room that night after a meal in the brasserie (meal reasonably priced, but... more

We got a non-renovated room without air conditioning. I wouldn't recommend THAT. Make sure you get an air conditioned room. Nevertheless, we had a great time. The access to the baths is weird, but once you get used to it it's really fun. The baths themselves are fun. There's a wave pool with serious waves. (Like it scares people!) and... more

Beautiful old hotel and Spa, joy to the eyes. Our room (315) was spacious and nice, must be recently decorated. Good location too. BUT: There is WIFI in the rooms but very expensive, 23 Euros per day. That was not told at the site of the hotel. I brought my laptop and did not use it for Internet. At least... more

The view is fine. The rooms are clean. The food it good. The internet charges are outrageous. Don't throw away your spa card as they will surprise you with a charge when you check out. Paint is peeling, carpets are worn, the business center has inconvenient hours. This is NOT a 4 star hotel any longer. Has seen far better... more

Despite the heatwave we enjoyed our stay here, friendly welcoming door staff, efficient check in and check out and all the staff greeted us in a friendly way.Great reception area, breakfast room well run with an amazing selection of food. Lovely views over The Danube but the rooms at the front of the hotel can be very noisy, we had... more

WE went to this hotel because of the spa facilities and we paid a lot for getting a room with air conditioning and refurbished. The spa outside caused my husband a terrible skin reaction. The doctor's visit before visiting the spa was crazy and totally useless. The rooms are outdated .The spa itself is like a labyrinth.I would advice everybody to stay away... more
