This hotel is a modest hotel with a great location. Staff was very helpful and obliging! We utilized the breakfast and it was very good at the price 2 days for 14.99 euros. A good value for the money in a large city next to the subway line. Thank you to the staff who certainly made our stay in Budapest... More

We arrived at the Metropol Budapest after an eight hour train journey, and were greeted by the receptionist who appeared to be set on rushing us through check in as quick as possible - smiling didn't seem to be something on her agenda. She proceeded to speak at a rate at which no one could understand, and sped through the... More

The hotel is in a reasonable position but was slightly further out than it appeared on the map ... but you can reach most locations within a 30 minute walk (max). The breakfast included was reasonable but the cooked part wasn't that impressive. However, as it was August and in the mid to high 30c, it was most definitely let... More

If you want noisy and ineffective air-conditioning this hotel is the place for you! In the hotels defence Budapest was suffering somewhat of a heat-wave during our visit but either way the air-con was super ineffective and being placed next to a busy road opening the window meant too much noise. We didn't have the best nights sleeps. Other than... More

I am a guest at the Mercure, Budapest, Rackozi. I asked twice for cream for my coffee which they supply in the room and twice I was told only one cream per day. That's 7.5 grams. Not enough for one cup. I was told to go to the store and buy it. Are you kidding? Is this country on rations?... More

The hotel was located in a quite nice neighborhood for us, who rather see more locals and less tourists in the streets. Staff at the desk were ok, to be honest we really didn't need anything from them until we checked out from the hotel so that being said the staff was good. The room was rather small, but enough... Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
