Great location staff very friendly metro stop literally 2 mins walk. New York cafe around the corner is a must. Clean tidy hotel. Great value would use again. Beds lovely and comfy and clean towels every day.

The hotel was located in a quite nice neighborhood for us, who rather see more locals and less tourists in the streets. Staff at the desk were ok, to be honest we really didn't need anything from them until we checked out from the hotel so that being said the staff was good. The room was rather small, but enough... Although the location is ok, the bathrooms in the lobby are so filthy and smell like urine ... Some members of the staff are quite rude and not accommodating , I felt in several occasions like they were doing me a favor staying in the hotel, rather than being a guest, I'm quite disappointed with my choice and if I ever... Even as cheap as the price of a room is here, it is not worth it. It is dingy and shabby in the rooms and almost too small to roll a large bag into. To make things worse the dining room/bar staff is VERY rude and unaccommodating.

We had a nice stay here. Plus for free parking with rental car right outside the hotel, and great location. Minus for expensive breakfast and safe down in the reception instead of in room. Helpful staff.

The hotel is very easy to get to from the airport with the mini bus shuttle - direct to the front door. Check in was smooth - people very easy to talk to & made all booking for us extremely well. We booked a taxi back to airport & the sightseeing hop on & off tour - WHICH IS A... More

I write this review as someone who has quite a lot of experience at staying hotels and staying in chain hotels, with status, thus my views may be a little different depending on what you're looking for. Thus, when I rate a hotel I rate it based on what I think the hotel star rating should be and not simply... More

We got this hotel as part of a package deal, and it was ok. We had to change our room on arrival as the one allocated was a smoking room and it reeked of smoke before we'd even opened the door. However, the staff were pleasant and arranged the alternative room. As a budget hotel it's ok - you get... More

Stayed at the Mercure Metropol for one night. Enjoyed our stay. Very good location, within easy walking of distance of many sites in Pest, and close to the Underground station. Nearby grocery store.Staff were very good and helped us make phone calls back to Canada, and arranged a cab to the train station upon our departure. Our room faced the... More

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
