We had a great stay here and would recommend it no end. Its position is good with a bus into town no more than about 3-4 minutes apart and you are at the metro within 5 from there. 3 more minutes and you are at Blaha, a hub where you can head in all directions in Pest by multiple transports.... We spent 5 nights at this hotel while having some dental treatment in Budapest. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The staff are polite, attentive, and nothing is too much trouble. Every time I went to open a door it was opened for me. Their English was excellent and I had money converted, taxis ordered, and places to see... More

The service could not be better! Employees always available to help, flexible, very polite. The rooms are clean, organized, warm and comfortable. It's not central, but if it was I would definitely give it 6 stars! Anyway, you have bus stops in front of the door!

The stay at Hotel Charles was lovely. The staff is very friendly, they all speak English and are ready to help you with anything! The room we stayed in was spacious and clean, with a view over the Pest Hill. At night, it was a bit noisy from the trains passing by, but we were tired from walking and visiting... More

Best point of this hotel is absolutely great staff who were very friendly, corteous, always trying to help and give all the information. The exterior of the hotel is somewhat older while inside everything is very nice which is most important. Spotlessly clean, well equipped and spacious rooms with comfortable beds, free fast wi-fi. Delicious buffet breakfast! We were very... More

This hotel is perfect for budget travellers who want to forego a hostel, particularly young couples. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the staff were very kind and friendly. We stayed here over New Year, and were given free bottles of champagne. The hotel is quite far from the airport, so we used a taxi. DO NOT accept... More

WOW! Fantastic stay at this beautiful little hotel. Situated perfectly on the western side of the Danube and only a 10 walk from the castle. It really is a lovely hotel and made even more special with excellent and warm staff.....they really do make it. The rooms are spotless and I doubt you would find a more reasonable hotel in... More

We stayed at Hotel Charles for 8 nights. First, the location is terrific. Not too central but very easy to get to the city center by bus. 3 minutes walking from the hotel you can find 2 grocery stores (one is closer) that the second one is open 24/7. The hotel offers taxi services that gives fare and fixed prices,... More

Peaceful, clean, very kind personnel, free parking next the hotel (few places, I was lucky), but the best was the food: rich breakfast and big and tasty meals (they should have a great "master chef" cooker. Looking forward to stay there again, or - at least - to eat again a healthy & very well made meal. Thank you.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
