Clean and comfortable room in an older Hotel. Very good restaurant and wine list. Hungarian and Continental menu. Good breakfast included. Very helpful staff speaks English, helped us set up tours of the city. Walking distance to the Danube, then a good walk (30 minutes) to city center.

The hotel is okay, especially considering the price. The room was huge and clean. There is a nice restaurant on the ground floor. Also, the staff was very helpful and set up transportation from the airport. There is a bus stop near the hotel, which came in handy. The major complaint we had was the wifi. It was terrible. Also,... More

We visited Hotel Charles when we went to the Formula 1 in Budapest. The hotel was really nice, staff were very helpful and the location was close to landmarks and transport. The room was big, had an in room safe and a kitchenette with fridge. Only downfall was that we had to pay for air conditioning, but it wasn't too... More

We came to Budapest for the formula 1. We booked hotel Charles because we were happy with reviews on tripadvisor and it was a reasonable price. The staff here are great. There made sure we had everything we needed and we're always polite and asked us how we are doing. If I come back to Budapest I would definitely come... More

We had two rooms rented for two nights at this hotel. It is located on the Buda side. While the location isn't perfect, it is walking distance to the castle, Fisherman's Bastion, etc. Otherwise, you will have to bus/Uber/taxi to the Pest side for other sights. The service at the hotel was fantastic. They were very attentive to our needs... More

I booked this trip as a 30th birthday present for my girlfriend, I informed the hotel it was her birthday in advance. Upon arriving we were upgraded to the honey moon suite, given a free bottle of wine and some biscuits. The room was very spacious, although the bathroom felt a little outdated. Breakfast was good, not a huge selection... More

The staff is friendly and will so everything to please the guests. Located in the Budapest hills close to the river. The hotel restaurant is amazing and the service top of the line. I will return in the future.

Close to town & castle, without being too noisy. Staff most helpful & couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. Large clean rooms, if somewhat older style. Quirky building that includes some permanent apartments. On bus route, but taxi to centre of city only $NZ10.00. Highly recommended & would love to stay there again.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
