Very central hotel, near one of the main railway stations, near a metro ststion and an important transport node. Clean hotel, large room, available lift and good breakfast. Welcoming front office staff.

The entrance to the hotel is a small doorway from the main road which leads via a corridor to 2 lifts where the reception is located on the 5th floor. I had a single room which had 2 beds and was large and roomy. The bathroom was also large. The furnishings are quite basic but more than sufficient for a... More

Thanks to this hotel for saving me. Amid one of the greatest hangovers of my life, I missed my train out of Budapest. In desperate need of a bed for the night, I found this hotel. Cheap price and the room was nice. I slept for almost the whole day. With a help of an early kebab, I was able... More

Acccess to all modes of public transport is easy. The bus stops are right outside the hotel and the train station for local and international travel across the road. The rooms and bathrooms provide basic amenties and are clean. The breakfast is average and the desk staff helpful. This hotel gave us the best foreign exchange rates with no commission... More

This hotel is fairly basic and quite a way from the main attractions although access to the hop on hop off bus tour is within a reasonable walking distance. The immigrant crisis that was taking place in Keleti train station now seems to have disappeared and it's safe to use the metro from here although the homeless sleep down there... More

Great location close to train station. The area seems a little sketchy at first but it isn't at all. People just hang out more outside bars/restauarants than in the US. The staff was very helpful with giving directions and getting transportation to the airport. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was good. I would definitely stay again.

We had booked another hotel (the Star City Hotel) but they had a water leak on the first floor so they arranged for us to stay at Baross City Hotel, another hotel in the same company, instead. Due to a misunderstanding between the two hotels we first got a small room with twin beds but when I discovered the mistake... More

The only plus point of this hotel , is its location.-in front of the railway station. There is nothing else to recommend it. Our room,( fairly large), triple sharing, was on the fifth floor. It had no windows opening outside. The only one, opened in the corridor inside. The air conditioner seemed non-existent, so we were given a pedestal fan.The bathroom does not have... We had a triple room where we had a nice wiev over the street, good wi-fi, really helpful staff. The breakfast was average. Although it is cheap, the total score would be better if renovations were done.

To rest a while between sleeper trains (Prague-Budapest / Budapest-Bucharest) we took a room in the Baross hotel for a few hours. We had a room for 4 and were able to have showers, make drinks and get provisions for the next sleeper. This was an economical hotel very close to the railway station and was worth the cost to... Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
