The Mercure Budapest is punctuated by its overtly helpful and friendly staff. From restaurant recommendations, travel arrangements and city orientation the staff with ensure you have a happy stay in Budapest. The rooms are a little old in decor and appliances but nevertheless clean and spacious, with strong WiFi connection. The hotel is also equipped with gym, spa and massage... More

OK, the hotel is reasonably priced, OK, the breakfast buffet is better than nothing, OK, all infrastructure elements work. And sure, the hotel is situated just perfectly, in the centre of the City. But that is it, no more. So you get what you pay for, nothing to complain, but also nothing to give the place a gold medal for,... More

We stayed for 3 nights in July. Very welcoming staff who speak good English. Comfortable rooms with excellent Air Conditioning - almost noiseless. Located reasonably close to everything. Just one block away from the Tram stop at Astoria. Easy to get the tram and then underground to any part of the city.

We stayed for a weekend in July and I had no faults with the hotel. We got a much better price than advertised which made it really good value. The sauna, Turkish bath and jacuzzi were really welcome after a long day. The rooms were larger than I expected for a city hotel - the beds comfy and the shower... More

This was a great find. The hotel is off the main road a couple blocks and on a quiet street. It's within walking distance to some great attractions such as 'Old Town' and the Ruin pubs. The service was really good; the front desk helped us a couple of times with directions and advise for some places to eat.

Executive summary Pros - Location (5min from Astoria), good free WiFi, room amenities functions well, there are computers for public use in the business center Cons - Wellness center opens for only 5hrs a day (17-22hr)!?? Rooms can feel outdated. Overall an enjoyable stay and quite good value.

This is a really nice Mercure hotel located in a short walking distance from the nearest tube station. I booked an up-graded room called 'privilege' as the price for this was lower than in a hotel our company usually books standard rooms. And I was not disappointed - the room features a sofa apart from regular bed (actually two beds... More

This Mercure unit was renewed recently. My room (002) was perfect for my needs, and with a high ceiling which I like very much, specially in the summer. The hotel is located 2 blocks from subway Astoria and the neighborhood is safe and quiet. Breakfast is good, but you can find several cheaper options in the surroundings. You can plan... More

Location: the hotel is located in the quiet street, just around the corner from one of the main streets of Budapest, from where you can easily reach Vaci str., for example, within abt.15 minutes of relaxed walking. Near the hotel there is a post office, couple of stores, where you can buy a snack, etc., a currency exchange. Room: the... More

We stayed at this hotel for four days while visiting Budapest. It is conveniently located; the rooms are clean and spacious. The desk staff went out of their way to offer maps and suggestions for each days activities. We had trouble with the remote control for the TV and they immediately took care of it. Walking distance to many attractions... More
