I loved this little hotel- very clean and we didn't care about the lobby being small because we were only passing through it to the museums and public transportation. 2 blocks to Metro from which we could transfer to a train or 5 blocks walk to the train that took us to the airport- we chose the latter since it... more

The first night we checked in, the air conditioning in the room broke down. After complaining, the hotel would not change our room without downgrading its size. We tried to get complimentary breakfast as compensation for this inconvenience, but management only said we could get 50% off. On the third night we stayed, for some reason, there were dozens of... more

Three of us stayed here in late February in two rooms for three nights. My first impression was that the lobby looked dated, but the room was a bit better. The bright orange and yellow stripe fabric on the draperies, bedspread, and chairs are a bit loud. I must say though this look grows on you after a few days.... more

My stay at the Mercure started well, a charming receptionist persuaded me to upgrade to a mini-suite which certainly seemed worth the extra money. The location of the hotel is very good, near the main shopping street, not far from the river and close to major cultural sites. However, as too often happens, atmosphere and attitudes changed with the staff.... more

Hello! We were bumped to this hotel by a 'sister' hotel, the Mercure Duna. From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff were very, very nice to us. This hotel is located in an older district of Budapest and at first it looks as if you are simply on some side street with nowhere interesting to go. Don't be fooled.... more

Unfortunately, we arrived in Europe during one of their worst heat waves ever. Since the first hotel we booked in Budapest had no a/c, we had to find one in a hurry that did. The Mercure Museum was ideally located where we wanted to be. It claimed to have a/c and the special price on the Mercure website couldn't be... more

We stayed at the Mercure Museum Hotel for 5 nights in May 2005. If you are looking for a comfortable hotel in a quiet street yet within easy walking distance of the major attractions - then this is it ! Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean with a well appointed bathroom. The breakfast was the best we have had in... more

Recently we spent 5 nights in the Mercure Museum Hotel in Budapest. We have chosen this Hotel because of its situation near the City centre. The Hotel is in a small street where a lot need still to be renovated, but turning the corner you are at Ràkoczy Street and 200 meters from Astoria with Metro station and bus connections.... more

I was one of a party of eight who travelled to Budapest for the year ending 04. Expectations were high, however hugely dissapointed at what was to come. The hotel itself was on a back street of a busy main road. The street was littered with graffiti and dog foul. The rooms were cramped and lacked basic ammenities (Tea /... more
