One word to describe Best Western Hotel Hungaria is "ancient". The room is comparatively big but the beds are incredibly small, to be exact, narrow. Everything in the room is dusty. There is a very unpleasant smell when you get off the elevator on the way to the rooms. It is defintely not a 4 Star hotel. more

Except the location, there's nothing worth about the hotel. It's not the big things (room was big, very clean, hotel almost luxurious); it's the small things: - nobody came to refill the minibar; when we asked about it they looked at us surprised and said "u want a refill?"; it went on for 4 days. -the internet connection was just... more

First to say that this was not my first visit to Grand Hotel Hungaria. I first visited back in year 2000 so I knew what to expect. Arrival was good. Hotel has its own cab (which is a helpful fact I learned last time I visited), so it is possible to arrange for their cab to come and pick you... more

Hi there. I guess this excerpt from my letter to Best Western describes best my experience there: "I am writing to you to express my disappointment with your hotel in Budapest which does not meet the requirements for the 4 star classification, nor the "Best Western" logo (which usually stands for quality). Here is why I am saying this: -... more

There were 3 of us staying in a 'triple" room for 2 nights. We found the room to be clean and comfortable. It was a little noisy at night since our room was on the front of the building near the entrance (we were on the 7th floor). This is a big hotel with lots of tour buses arriving but... more

The three of us visited this hotel in a week in August, in which temperatur hit more than 30 degress celsius every day except for one. Even so, we had no problem with too high a temperature in the hotel room during nights. We did not explore the hotel much. Breakfast is more than decent if not excellent with dishes... more

Didn't check Tripadvisor before booking this as it was a last minute thing. I had stayed in Best Western Madrid recently and it was one of the best stays ever. How different a single chain can be... This hotel is close to Keleti train station if you are arriving or leaving there, it means avoiding rip-off Hungarian taxi drivers. It... more

Big hotel, a bit noisy between the hours of 10:00 pm and midnight. Extensive breakfast choices. To our surprise, we had a spacious room with 1.5 bathrooms, king size bed, high ceilings, couch, and desk. The only bad thing for us is that we had a little bit of trouble finding restaurants within a 5 minute walk from the hotel.... more

We needed a place to stay after arriving at Keleti Railroad Station in Budapest (Keleti is the station from which most of the international trains arrive and depart). We wanted to be able to walk--thus avoiding the extra fees charged when hailing a taxi on the street in Budapest (taxis arranged by phone are cheaper). We were only going to... more

The hotel was huge and quite touristy, but also pretty cheap, well-located and clean. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Not the best hotel in the world, but I liked it. Yes, you do get the feeling that you're in East Europe, but come on that's what's so great about Budapest! It's a mixture of eastern and... more
