Big hotel, a bit noisy between the hours of 10:00 pm and midnight. Extensive breakfast choices. To our surprise, we had a spacious room with 1.5 bathrooms, king size bed, high ceilings, couch, and desk. The only bad thing for us is that we had a little bit of trouble finding restaurants within a 5 minute walk from the hotel.... more

We needed a place to stay after arriving at Keleti Railroad Station in Budapest (Keleti is the station from which most of the international trains arrive and depart). We wanted to be able to walk--thus avoiding the extra fees charged when hailing a taxi on the street in Budapest (taxis arranged by phone are cheaper). We were only going to... more

The hotel was huge and quite touristy, but also pretty cheap, well-located and clean. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Not the best hotel in the world, but I liked it. Yes, you do get the feeling that you're in East Europe, but come on that's what's so great about Budapest! It's a mixture of eastern and... more

This place has a great breakfast. Its much more than just breakfast. Lots of lunch time food. If you're on a budget just eat enough for both lunch and breakfast. The food is not only plentiful but its good. The rest of the hotel is quite mediocre. The front desk is adequate but not overly helpful. My room was clean... more

This is a good, inexpensive tourist hotel with a terrific breakfast. The rooms are spacious, with very high ceilings and (in some) small balconies. The furniture, and especially the carpet, is indeed very 70-80's, but this is amusing rather than annoying. The breakfast was great, with a huge selection of foods, but if you get up late and the main... more

This hotel is located near the train station, in an almost iffy part of town. To get there, walk about 2 blocks from the station(the sign is visable from the street). Unless you plan to use the metro or train station for your travel, don't stay here. This hotel is a typical best western. Decent rooms, clean place, free breakfast.... more

With sure i'll never go back to this terrible hotel! It's not 4 star hotel, it's absolutely [--]! This hotel is noisy, old, bad appointed and the staff is so bad-mannered especially the people on the reception desk. Don't go there! This is my advice. more

Oh dear! This hotel is in a bit of a time warp! OK, the room was clean. And that's where it ends. The hotel is not really in the best part of town, everywhere is covered in graffiti and even though some parts of Pest are beautiful and and restored to its former glory, this has not extended out to... more

The Hungaria is not theprettiest of hotels from the outside and the part we stayed was a little dated and tired. It was however very clean and tidy. The staff all of them friendly and helpful. Hungarian not being widley spoken outside the country English seemed to be the lingua franca even the cleaning staff had smattering. The hotel fronts... more

I recently stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during a trip with my 72 year old mother to Prague, Vienna and Budapest (it was an Austrian Airlines pkg). I'm 42, from NYC and I have traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia (I'm Korean American). I have stayed in places ranging from bed and breakfasts, 2 star hotels in Paris... more
