When I arrived and saw the location of the other hotels I had been tempted to book, I knew I had made the right choice. Yes, they had nice views and looked romantic, but in my experience, it is best to go for convenience on a short break. In truth, we had no time to look out the window anyway,... more

I truly enjoyed my 5-days stay in this hotel. Not every staff speak English fluently, however, the service was excellent. Front office, concierge, house cleaning, laundry service, they all were very friendly, courteous, kind and everything was on time ! The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of city, walking distance to many landmarks. Breakfast is a great deal. more

Excellent hotel. The staff cannot do enough for you. I spend 3 weeks a month in hotels all over Europe and this is one of my favorite. The location is fantastic for visiting Budapest in your off time. Close to restaurants and shopping. The “Privilege” rooms are relatively spacious and the bathrooms are nice. The restaurant in the hotel is... more

Right at the center of Vaci street (which is the main street for shoping), 5 minuntes walk for the Danuba . Close to many sites by walk , close to main subway station. The hotel staff members are very nice , always willing to help with a smile. The breakfest is very rich with large varaity. The only bad thing... more

Overall a great hotel! Everything works, it is clean, the service is good, the rooms are standard hotel rooms, good bathrooms - and the location is great!!! If you need efficency, security, good location and similar - this is your hotel. If you like atmosphere, the romantic getaway or designer hotels - I would probably go somewhere else. more

The location on Vaci Uta is wonderful, close to the Elizabeth Bridge and an easy walk to the Chain Bridge. The hotel is accessible to many terrific restaurants (Budapest has fabulous food), and the staff were very helpful in directing us. The rooms are “European-small” but clean and nicely furnished – nothing unique but definitely functional. The hallway, however, was... more

Recommended by a Hungarian friend, Mercure is right on top of the tourist center, Vaci Street, not far from Gerbaud and perhaps 15 to 20 minutes maximum walking to the Opera House, Basilica, and five minutes to the Danube. Located near public transit as well. Perfect location, though Vaci Street and its hustlers will wear after a few days. Service... more

My partner and I travelled to Budapest in february, this is a bit hit and miss with the weahter (it was -9C with the windchill taking it to -12C) but this is one of the best trips I have ever been on. The people are lovely, the rooms are clean and the bar is nice (although pricey, actually cheaper to... more

Rooms a bit small , go for the privilege rooms , extra surcharge of 20 Euros well worth it , not for the room itself but for the access to the Priviledge Lounge , with no hassle service, upgraded breakfast including choice of eggs, drinks after five pm. Staff efficient & fairly friendly more

I stayed for 3 Nights with a friend of mind. We were there at the end of April and very luckily we had excellent weather, even though the forecast promised rain. If this is a four star hotel then these stars are very small... more like a good 3 star hotel. A bit dated. Breakfast was great, a lot of... more
