I stayed here on January 22 with members of my trio. I am a touring musician and professor of piano at Boston's Berklee College of Music. We played a concert at the Muveszetek Palotaja (Palace of the Arts) that night, so having a good rest and excellent hospitality were very important to us. The hotel exceeded our expectations. I was... More

Had a 3 day, 2 night stay here on a visit to Budapest. The hotel, from the outside and the reception area looks very good. The whole feel is typically Mercure. Our room wasn't ready so had a quick drink in the bar where the staff were very friendly, and drinks reasonably priced, for a hotel. Room was not at... More

Whenever I visit Budapest I choose this hotel as it is very well located. My room was upgraded which was much appreciated and it was comfortable and well decorated. Breakfast in the Bridge Bar was excellent with very helpful staff on duty. I had hired a car and I used the hotel car park 50 metres away. Check in and... More

As usual when passing one night in Budapest( beautiful city ), I usually choose this hotel because the location is in the center of the city , very close to most of places of interest. Hotel is a little bit old but clean and quite. Rooms are a little bit small but comfortable. Breakfast is generous and people there always... More

This hotel has a very good location with walking distance to the Danube or Vaci Utica The hotel staff is available and hospitable doing their best to satisfy the customers. Also they have a newly refurbished restaurant with great style and delicious food plus a very good view. Unfortunately the hotel hasn't been refurbished since at lest 20 years walls... More

The Mercure Korona delivered on our expectations. It is a large business hotel and everything is very modern and efficient in the lobby. The room itself was a little tired but there was a nice note and complimentary wine on arrival. I don't think we got a particularly nice room in comparison to others the hotel offers, of course it... First, the good. The staff of the Mercure Korona could not be more friendly, helpful, and eager to please. That counts for a lot. The location is also excellent--at the Kalvin ter end of Kecskemeti utca, so just a couple of blocks from the Liberty Bridge, the Central Market, and with the Kalvin ter metro station just outside the front... Myself and my partner often go on city breaks and know how expensive these can be, therefore we could not believe the bargain we got with this hotel. To start the hotel is in a brilliant location and within reasonable walking distance to the majority of local tourist attractions. Initially the hotel and staff look well presented, however once shown... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
