I booked the Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge and have been very impressed since my arrival here. TripAdvisor gave me an extremely good price, much less expensive than that posted by the hotel itself or TripAdvisor competitors. To my surprise the room reserved by TripAdvisor was a deluxe accommodation. The room is a very generous size, extremely clean, the bedding is... More

Business travel has kindly helped me reach Platinum status with Accor and this status is clearly recognised at this hotel. It is only fair to comment I think you can obtain these during a stay if you book a top end room so not exclusive to Accor members. As we were arriving in the evening I had pre-arranged an airport... Family holiday in this wonderful city. Hotel is well located for touring with lost eating places surrounding as well as the hotel having a nice restaurant. Stones throws away from chain bridge. Lovely rooms with great views. Breakfast variety is superb. Friendly staff. Would stay again.

We needed a hotel room prior to our taking a cruise on the Danube River commencing in Budapest. A recommendation came to us for this hotel and we made the reservation direct. The room was prepaid before our arrival and it made checking in very convenient. All the people working at the hotel spoke English to some degree (we were... More

Stayed in the Sofitel for 3 nights recently in a room with chain bridge view. Besides the view over the chain bridge and it's excellent location, the hotel is not in par with newer 5 star hotels. Despite old style deco the room is pretty small. Bathroom is small too and needs update. The deco of it is considered to... More

This hotel has a perfect location, 2 minutes to chain bridge by walking, 1 minutes to casino by walking. The hotel also got great rooms with good views. The hotel is just a amazing place for Budapest.

One of the best hotels we stayed at in Europe. The rooms were clean and we had been upgraded to a bridge view room. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help us if we needed. The buffet breakfast had a variety of foods and was always fresh and kept being refilled. We would stay there again with... More

This hotel is situated between the Intercontinental and The Four Seasons hotels in the heart of touring area. Located on the Pest side not far from the ancient Chain Bridge the Sofitel was clean with adequately sized rooms and a very friendly and accommodating staff. Their breakfast buffet was very international with offerings for visitors from all over. The breakfast... More

We had such a wonderful 3 night stay at the Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge. My husband and I have just returned home after 4 nights in Budapest staying at this hotel. Firstly we contacted the hotel before the holiday to enquiry about booking things to do and how to get to the hotel from the airport and the concierge team couldn't have been more helpful which continued during our stay. The hotel arranged for... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
