This is the 3rd time we've stayed at the Danubius Helia on the Pest side, a bit out of the center. The hotel is shabbier than it used to be and needs some work. The beds are way too soft. But, the price is quite reasonable, it isn't too hard to reach the center if you don't mind commuting by... More

I stayed here for business because it was convenienly located near the office. While it is situated right beside the Danube, it is a bit out of the way from inner Budapest (about a 30 minute brisk walk to the Parliament building) in an area with really uninteresting, Soviet era architecture. However it is only a 5 minute walk to... More

We stayed for 5 nights in this hotel on a sightseeing trip. It overlooks the Danube but is a good 15 minute walk to the centre of the city. The hotel was very clean, the food was plentiful and although 'buffet style dining', always had something for everyone. The choice at breakfast was also very good. My only gripe was... More

Was in Budapest for a European meeting. we stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. the room was located in de far corner of the 1st floor lobby so had a bit of noise from the elevator or people going to their room's. the room itself isn't really big but not small either. Sure the badroom is only for 1... More

Attended a meeting associated with the hotel...the business room worked well apart from microphone glitches. The room was VERY small - less than 2 feet from the end of the bed to the small desk. It did have a nice view of the Danube and Buda hills. There is no bar of soap - the only toiletry supplied is a... More

The Danubius is a very clean spa hotel located about a mile and a half North of Pest on the eastern side of the Danube. I didn't try the spa facilities myself as I was attending a business meeting all week but it seemed popular enough throughout the week. The dining area is spacious and does a self service buffet... We stayed for 3 Nights in September 2014. The hotel was big and the surroundings we Associated With Eastern Europe during the Cold War. But Helia had Nice atmosphere, helpful staff, Nice rooms overlooking the Danube. Staff were helpful, ordering taxis, recommending restaurants and sightseeings. After long walks in beautiful Budapest, it was wonderful to relax in the Hotels' swimmingpool... More

The hotel is more of a health center for older people, as we seemed to be the youngest there :) The room / furniture is quite old and boring and the bath is small - it includes only shower cap and 2 in 1 shower gel & shampoo - no soap! The elevators are really slow, be patient. No free... More

Clean and comfortable hotel a little bit outside the inner city, but with easy access to the city center by bus or metro. Very helpful staff and good breakfast. I was not able to try the SPA-facilities (due to recent surgery), but they looked very tempting.. Recommended!
