We really enjoyed our stay here. This hotel is truly in the heart of the city and you can walk to all the major sights. We had a quiet room in the back that had windows opening onto courtyards shared by the adjoining apartment building. Although the temperatures were pretty hot in Budapest our rooms stayed cool, probably due to... More

Our family stayed here for 3 nights on the way to somewhere else. The location is AWESOME as it is literally feet within Vaci Utca, which is the most excellent area in Budapest. This alone might prompt me to stay again. But....the room was not so clean. We wore flip flops when not in bed because the carpet and flooring... More

Almost all my impressions are echoed in other reviews. Nice enough, older hotel but hardly anything special. I did appreciate that it is nonsmoking and policy is enforced! The room rate was reasonable, the location was okay, and the staff were friendly and helpful mostly. I felt secure in the hotel and the neighborhood. While the temperature outside was in... More

Peregrinus is a sensibly-priced hotel just off the main tourist strip yet wonderfully quiet at night. Clean, welcoming with a good breakfast. It has a lift, as well. We stayed there twice and could leave our main luggage with Peregrinus with a very secure feeling.

Hotels in Budapest can be v expensive, esp in the heart of the city, near the river. This is in a great location--walk to everything. I shopped around a fair bit before settling on this gem. I stayed 6 nights. It's owned by Budapest University--academes stay here. Maybe this is why price is so reasonable. I was on a bicycle... More

This hotel offers some nice rooms at affordable prices in the heart of one of Budapest's most important tourist areas. Quick and easy tram and/or Metro connections to all of the most popular sites. Our room (#31) was actually a sort of suite, with a generous work area separated from the bedroom. Bathroom was clean and modern. Lots of storage... More

For the price and location this hotel is okay. However, I do believe that you can find a better one for the same price range. If you stay here, get the 5th floor. Its nice and quiet. Overall, we didnt mind the hotel and would stay again for the right price

The single room on the top floor was a decent size, but it was hot hot hot when I was there! It did have AC, and that worked well. The room and bathroom were clean, so no problems there - it was a comfortable stay. Breakfast was OK, but not great - some selections were limited towards the end of... More

I strongly don't recommend this hotel! I stayed there a week ago. Single room cost 70 euros. The only plus point of the hotel - good location. But for the money you can find a much better hotel. The room is small, there was very hot, air conditioning did not work. There was terrible smell room. Presonal not friendly. Breakfast... More

We spent a couple of days in Peregrinus and we highly recommend it to everybody who' going to Budapest. The hotel is located in very heart of the downtown, close to Vaci utca and The Liberty Bridge. The room was big enough with AC and a spacious bathroom. Wifi was working very well. We also enjoyed the breakfast, which consisted... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
