An excellent hotel for the tourist right in the middle of Budapest. Clean, good service, everything you need when you want to visit the city, instead of sitting in a hotel. The hotel provides a good breakfast, and is close to the metro, And a very reasonable price.

Hotel's location is just perfect, few steps to the main shopping street (Vaci Utca) and few minutes to public transportations. Old style furnished but clean and big rooms. Breakfast is not the best but it's ok. Most importantly it's a quite hotel.

in its price class it is a clean and friendly hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Simple breakfast buts sufficient. Perfect location for tourists. Easy access to public transport and the Liberty Bridge. Good restaurants around. Hotel is a bit old but maintained well

This hotel is right in the heart of the city, and the price is decent. It's on a quiet street, too. I was on the top floor, and the skylight was pretty cool. I was there during a heatwave, but the AC worked well. I also really liked their breakfast. The staff was friendly, too. One bad thing -- the... More

As a single traveler, I don't have a huge "want" list for a room, other than cleanliness and location. This hotel has it all. It's clean, I absolutely love the high ceilings in my room, there is plenty of storage and compared to other "single" rooms, I feel like I've got a lot of space. I stayed the second floor,... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. This hotel is truly in the heart of the city and you can walk to all the major sights. We had a quiet room in the back that had windows opening onto courtyards shared by the adjoining apartment building. Although the temperatures were pretty hot in Budapest our rooms stayed cool, probably due to... More

Our family stayed here for 3 nights on the way to somewhere else. The location is AWESOME as it is literally feet within Vaci Utca, which is the most excellent area in Budapest. This alone might prompt me to stay again. But....the room was not so clean. We wore flip flops when not in bed because the carpet and flooring... More

Almost all my impressions are echoed in other reviews. Nice enough, older hotel but hardly anything special. I did appreciate that it is nonsmoking and policy is enforced! The room rate was reasonable, the location was okay, and the staff were friendly and helpful mostly. I felt secure in the hotel and the neighborhood. While the temperature outside was in... More

Peregrinus is a sensibly-priced hotel just off the main tourist strip yet wonderfully quiet at night. Clean, welcoming with a good breakfast. It has a lift, as well. We stayed there twice and could leave our main luggage with Peregrinus with a very secure feeling.

Hotels in Budapest can be v expensive, esp in the heart of the city, near the river. This is in a great location--walk to everything. I shopped around a fair bit before settling on this gem. I stayed 6 nights. It's owned by Budapest University--academes stay here. Maybe this is why price is so reasonable. I was on a bicycle... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
