The Hotel is situated on a hill not too far away from public transport. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are nice. The beds are comfortable and clean and there was plenty of hot water. The hotel is an ideal base for exploring Buda and Pest and is 10 minutes walk to Margaret Island which is a must.... More

Given the prices, and quiet but central neighbourhood in which it is located, Hotel Papillon is one of the best average hotel from Europe i might say. If you only need one quiet room, with a bed and a bathroom and with good food and services, then you should choose Papillon.

Location of hotel is very convinent. City centre is reachable by public transport or walk. Walk is very pleasant, along river Danube bank where you can see praliament, go across bridges... Rooms and bathroom are clean and good. Furniture is bit old, but for a short city trip it is enough. Breakfast is a bit basic but, it is enough... More

A small hotel within easy reach of the best areas of Budapest for a tourist (i.e. the Buda side of the river, near to Metro and tram stations). The staff are friendly and the atmosphere pleasant - some people may find it a bit basic, but what do you want for that price? This was the fifth time we've stayed,... More

Recommended by a Hungarian friend who lives nearby. It may only be 3 stars but it was about the best 3 star hotel I have stayed in. A small distance from the hustle and bustle of the city but easy walking distance. Very comfortable and clean, very helpful reception staff. Breakfast fine and coffee excellent. I enjoyed my stay and will... More

This hotel provides a friendly relaxing base for exploring and enjoying Budapest. It is in a residential area with apartments, parks and shops which is wonderful to wander round. Public transport to the Centre and main tourist spots is a few minutes walk away and is very regular and costs little, the reception staff will always organise a taxi if... More

We've been to Budapest for a business meeting but also took a day and a half to visit the city. The hotel isn't right in the middle of everything, but within pleasant walking distance to Danube - Margit Bridge and Island. It is also not so far away from Buda Castle, which is worth visiting. Papillon is a quite small... More

This a hidden gem in Budapest If you dont mind walking a bit extra to downtown area, this a perfect place to rest after a long day. Rooms are small but very clean, and the area is very quiet also. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There is also a small restaurant in its premises, so you dont have... More

Good value hotel especially for a family of 4, breakfast was OK but room size was great. We could have slept 6 in the room we had, with 4 it was very spacious. All I would say is that fixtures and fittings all needed a little work - shower screen almost fell off, shower head would not stay up etc.... More

Hotel Papillon cost 54 Euros a night for a twin room when we were staying. For this we got clean, homely rooms, excellent service and recommendations from the staff on reception, a location that is right in the 'Castle Hill' area and a 5 minute walk from the Danube and several of the top sightseeing attractions on the opposite side...
