I travelled to Budapest with my friend for a week, and we stayed in hotel Medosz. When we arrived it did not look fancy...of course it is a 3 star, and the price was really good. After a day being in the city, we realised, that all the places we wanted to visit is in walking distance from the hotel.... more

The hotel is indeed a bit tired looking but for what you are paying it is ok. Breakfast is sufficient. The worst part about the hotel is the bathroom. Stained but bearable. Location is excellent. Close to the subway, tram and busses. Across the street is Liszt tér, a square with numerous cafés and restaurants. more

We arrived in Budapest with plans to stay at the Medosz during Easter week. As a budget hotel, it was okay (close to the Oktagon metro), and we were given a room with new linens and a nice view over the park outside. Bathroom photos posted by other Tripadvisor members show an accurate portrayal of the mildew problem, but it's... more

Situated on the Pest side of the city this hotel, for a short stay in Budapest, is inexpensive and ideally located for shopping, eating & drinking. It is only a few minutes walk to the Metro station Oktogon and the bus stop and tram stop, giving you easy access to all areas of the city. You only have to take... more

If you are looking for a no-frills hotel in a good location, then the Medosz is for you. Located in a central position, the Medosz is within walking distance of all major attractions (5 mins walk from Opera House & Terror museum, 15-20 mins walk to zoo, Chain Bridge). Although the decor is a little dated, the rooms are of... more

The location is great. Across the street there is a short pedestrian street with lots of bars and restaurants. A 24 McDonalds nearby if you end up getting back late after a night on the town and want to eat something. The staff, however, are not so friendly. They all look depressed...but a lot of Hungarians look depressed so I... more

Don't be fooled by initial impressions, this hotel does have a lot to offer. On the downside, the room is the most dated and basic I've ever stayed in - to say the least, and being at the front of the hotel I did experience a lot of noise at all hours - but hey this is as central downtown... more

Just after returning from the Medosz and couldn't be happier!! The hotel is so central, just around the corner from the tram, in front of all the restaurants, and a night club and 24 hour bar beside us! You really couldn't be more central! The rooms were very clean and although the shower wasnt attached to the wall which is... more

We stayed in this hotel at the end of 2003 for 4 nights. We payed a promotional price 26 euros/night at that's about the highest price that we'd pay for it. The rooms are veery old and shabby - no renovation has been done. The bathroom smelled like urin and there were big holes in the curtains which were also... more

We stayed in this hotel at the end of 2003 for 4 nights. We got the hotel with promotional price 26 euros/night which is about the highest price we would pay for it. The rooms were veeery old and untidy. The toilet smelled like urine and e.g. the curtains were really dusty and ragged. The towels seemed to be a... more
