The location was excellent – 2 tram stops from Moscow Square station or walk for 5 minutes. The hotel staff at the front desk speak good English and are very helpful. However I will not return to this hotel because the mattress was so soft and pillows so thin that we could not sleep tight at all. The worst part... more

I went to Budapest just a week ago and stayed in this hotel. Well, the hotel rooms are just like all the "4 star" hotels you found in Eastern Europe. Clean room, comfy bed, okay clean toilets and okay breakfast. However, do keep in mind that the hotel is circular so the placings of the furniture are a bit unusual.... more

This hotel was excellent. The only problem we had was finding it from the metro. The website does not have specific directions. They did not respond to an email asking for directions. To get here from Moskva Ter metro station, take the #61 or #59 tram to Varosmajor (2 stops, about 5 minutes). Once we figured out how to get... more

We stayed at the Hotel Buapest at the end of June and had a FABULOUS time. It isn't in the middle of the sites but the tram stop is directly opposite as is the cog railway up to Castle Hill. Buy a travel pass - at £13 for seven days unlimited travel on buses, trolley buses, metro, trams, cog railway... more

At first, I had a GREAT time at Hotel Budapest during my stay with my lovely new wife Lisa-Marie. My friends from Toronto radio called me to ask how everything was going. Fantastic, I told them, except a small argument Lisa-Marie and I had on the second day. She wouldn't let the kid sleep with us. more

I stayed here 8th - 10th March 2009 with a friend and on arrival, we were greated by a very friendly receptionist who checked us in quickly and gave us our key. He said we had a room only deal and asked if we wanted breakfast, we decided 'why not?' so asked him to reserve 2 spaces for us on... more

Hotel Budapest offers good value for a 4 star hotel. Its not bang in the centre of town but its only 800m walk down to the metro and the main tram terminal for Buda side of town, and the Castle is only a further 800m away. The hotel room was fine had no problems there. But the restaurant was a... more

Me and my husband stayed for 4 nights. We booked it via lastminute.com and paid £22 per room, per night. Obviously it didn't inc breakfast and we thought that was expensive 9 euros each so we didn't bother eating in the hotel. We were on the 11th floor and the views were wonderful, looking out to the Buda hills. The... more

My Boyfriend and i were living in different countries and picked Budapest for a meeting point for a long weekend. We arrived at the Budapest airport rather early and took a minibus directly to the Hotel Budapest. Since we were there way before check in time, they would not let us check into our room, but took our bags and... more
