We stayed at the Grand Hotel for 3 nights. The island is magical. It is full of locals enjoying their park and it is a pleasant 25 minute walk to the Margrit bridge, the one you really need to get to for any touristing. However, that 25 minute walk is not so welcome late at night, carrying some food or... more

We spent a night at the Grand Hotel part of the Spa Resort. The spa facilities are next door in the more modern building, but there's a tunnel under the road from the Grand Hotel building. The spa facilites wer excellent, and couldn't be faulted. Our room was okay - slightly dated, but with a view of the river. Breakfast... more

This was our first trip to Budapest and we had a great city break. We stayed at the Grand Hotel on the Island. The hotel room was good, bathroom was very small (only 1 person in at a time), although it was clean and the shower was very good. Comfortable beds. Very quiet at night. We enjoyed staying on the... more

I stayed four nights in this hotel while attending a conference. The down side is that the hotel, located on Margaret Island on the Danube, is a bit out of the way for city acess. There is a tram line, but its a long walk. However, there is a regular bus from a stop very close to the hotel. The... more

Decent hotel and staff friendly. Evening meal buffet style nice selections and not deep fried food. Optional al la carte menue available. Definately recommend the place for girls get away. Would recommend that you book your treatments in advance if you want to book at the same time. Unfortunately the three day package that we were interested in taking, are... more

Without a doubt, the most elegant hotel we have ever stayed in. Our original booking was for The Budapest Hotel. Upon arrival, we were informed that there was good news and bad news. The hotel was overbooked (bad), but we were going to be driven to another of the Danubius chain of hotels (good). The Grand Hotel is a spa... more

Stayed for three nights at the hotel, booked it particularly for thermal spa as recovering from surgery. Hotel front and common areas lovely, rooms a bit faded grandeur - but I expected that, so not a issue. The website says it is connected to its sister hotel by an underground corridor, and it is a VERY long corridor! Not great... more

This is a charming hotel, on Margaret Island in the middle of the Danube, and a place of tranquility away from the pollution and traffic noise of Buda and Pest. It has great presence and a wonderful ambience and the potential to be a truly memorable experience, so why do I give it only 3 stars? The main reason is... more

This is what hotels are supposed to be. This is a grand old hotel, reflecting Europes rich history. It is located on an island between Buda and Pest. I felt this was not the best location, but friends thought it was great. Must get a bus or taxi to exit the island and usually make a transfer or two to... more

We went for a romantic winter weekend break which it certainly was. It was very cold and in the morning the parkland surrounding the hotel held the frost almost like something out of a picture postcard. Our room was a generous size with a big bed. Bathroom was average but more than did the job. I slept very well and... more
