We were only one night and not really sure how we feel about the hotel. The location is great, the cost is reasonable, check in was really fast and they wait for us in the middle of the night. There is no elevator! We had to wait for check out because there was no one at the reception. All in... More

The hotel is located in the city center, so you can just walk to the many interesting sites. Our room was big and clean, the hotel is small and extremely quiet. The hotel staff is very polite and qualified.

My wife and I have recently stayed at the City Hotel Pilvax which has a fantastic central location. The staff were very welcoming on arrival, spoke perfect English and ensured our needs were catered for. The room was large, airy and pleasant and more pillows were delivered to our room upon asking. The City Hotel Pilvax is perfect for a... More

This hotel is in a fantastic central location, very easy walk from the metro and a taxi rank. Very close to the river, it provides an excellent base from which to sightsee. The aircon works well, the rooms were large and clean and the staff friendly. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate and there is a communal safe that... More

We enjoyed the hotel personnel, the room and the daily breakfast, which is included. The location could not be any more convenient to the center of town. If you are looking for a straightforward Room and Board solution in Budapest (rather than a 4-5 star hotel) this is your place.

Just got back from Budapest, stayed in the pilvax hotel which is located on the pest side of the city. The reception staff were all really helpful and friendly, they advised us on the best way to explore the city and on places to visit. Our room was very clean and spacious, refreshing for a city hotel. We borrowed a... More

Having read so many good reviews about this hotel have to say I was disappointed with the service and the room. The hotel itself looks huge there was only one staff at the reception, as we were about to check in she did not greet us and was pretty occupied on the phone, we were given the room on the... More

Dear Valued Guest ‘Reggie_lu’, Thank you for your visit at City Hotel Pilvax and also for sharing your opinion on Tripadvisor. Mostly the guests highlight the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff which make us proud, nevertheless in a shift only one receptionist operates with busy periods sometimes. Instead of the pre-selected welcome brochure pack we prefer to display all... More

We stayed in City Hotel Pilvax for 3 nights. The room was really simple and basic but clean and there was enough space for our luggage. The staff was willing to help us for anything we asked for and generally we were really pleased with our choice. The strongest point of this hotel is it's location. We walk a lot... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
