This hotel is in an ideal location for touring Budaspest and within easy walking distance of the Chain Bridge and funicular railway up to the hills of Buda. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable although it was 37 degrees while we were there and the air conditioning could have been a little cooler, but everything else was great. Will definitely... We stayed for three nights for the Grand Prix weekend. Check in was fine but frosty receptionist. Didn't explain about breakfast or anything about the hotel. We had two rooms, one single and one double. Both were cramp and the air conditioning made a lot of noise but not at lot else. Breakfast was poor, with watered down juice and... More

We experienced a very good service. The room was clean, normally sized. In a walking distance to almost anything. Averaged breakfast. Very helpful and professional staff. A very good reastaurant nearby.

Excellent hotel on Buda side close to Chain Bridge. Easy walk to most of the sites and transport hubs. Couple of good restaurants just outside makes it easy if you dont want to travel too far after a busy day. The Hotel staff are pleasant and informative, Room was good size and bed comfortable and quiet. Great breakfast included you... More

Excellent hotel and very close to Chain Bridge. As a couple staying here for 2 nights while we explored Budapest, we couldn't have asked for more. Clean and spacious rooms, although don't expect a view.

We spent 4 nights at the Carlton Hotel and thought it was outstanding in terms of service and value. Firstly, the staff were courteous, professional and efficient. Rooms and public areas were impeccably clean. The rooms are quite small but perfectly functional, though don't expect any sort of view.A good quality breakfast with plenty of choice. Free wifi in the rooms.... More

We had a room with terrace in 6th floor and it had nice views over the buildings. We could also see the river and the parliament building! So if you consider the room with terrace I would recommend to ask for the top floor. Room was modern and clean when we arrived there but unfortunately the daily cleaning wasn´t good.... More

We stayed here for 4 nights while going to the Grand Prix last year. Its not the most modern establishment but provided good value for money. Our room was very small, we were constantly tripping over our cases but it was clean and we were quite happy with the facilities. The location is very good, on the Buda side of... More

The location is great, in a quiet area, but only 200 m from the Chain Bridge. If you want a room with a view, you'll have it only at 7th floor, but stay as far as you can from the elevators ... could be noisy. The breakfast could be better, only few choices. Fair rates, nice staff.

It's a good place to spend few days in Budapest. It's quite close to the center immediatly across the Chain Bridge in Buda. Clean. Pretty. Quite new. Good breakfast. Parking (you have to add 10 euro). Rooms are enough large. The staff is friendly.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
