The staff at this hotel were friendly and helpful, the room was newly decorated with a beautiful bathroom, everywhere was clean and the breakfast plentiful. Although the Buda side is quieter, this hotel is only minutes away from the hop on, hop off bus stops which are a great way to get around the city, and the funicular should you... More

My stay in this hotel was wonderful. Its our first time in Budapest and we were welcome by a friendly atmosphere. Though Buda side has not much of the action compare to the Pest side but the hotel is close proximity to all important attractions in the place. Believe me you will definitely enjoy staying in this hotel. The breakfast... More

Perfect location on Buda side of river, castle close by as are several very good restaurants, one next door! Transport links close too, and easy to walk to Pest side via Chain Bridge. Rooms ok, but ours and friends on 4th floor very hot. Added to which plastic sheets(?) under bottom sheet on beds. Did not sleep well as boiling... More

The hotel is very well situated for siteseeing, being very close to the famous Chain Bridge. The room was excellent, clean and situated over looking the courtyard, away from the noise of the city. Close by was a Belgian pub, which served excellent food at very reasonable prices. The staff at the hotel were very good, and helpfull. All in... More

This hotel is situated in a quiet alley on the Buda side and is very close to the Chain Bridge which takes you into pest where most of the shops are. The hotel was very clean and quiet. There is a very small restaurant opposite the hotel. We ate there twice and the meal was very good and reasonably priced.... More

The location of the hotel for those wishing to stay on the Buda side of the Danube could not be better - just a stone's throw from tjhe Chain Bridge and the bus stop at Adam Clark Ter. We arrived quite late at night and the man at the reception was very courteous and efficient. The rooms are small but... More

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2015

We stayed at the Carlton for 4 nights the April. Taking advice from reviews on Tripadvisor we requested a room on a higher floor, away from the lift and with a walk in shower. When we got to the hotel we found they had done exactly as requested. We also asked, by email, they book us a table at a... More
