We stayed here for 4 nights in July. The room was clean when we arrived, but not really cleaned properly while we were there. Fairly sure it wasn't vacuumed in the four days we were there. The plastic cups for tea/coffee were a real turn off. The room was however, comfortable and quiet. I expected shampoo to be provided in... more

As most of the reviewers have noted, the Carlton is in a great location to explore Budapest. Being at the base of Castle hill, we were able to go to the summit almost every evening to relax and take in the views. Close enough to bus/tram/subway connections to get around to the rest of the city. The rooms are clean... more

I've stayed in this hotel at the end on June and I'm less than impressed. It is in a good location about 5 mins from the Chain Bridge but not close to trams/buses to get you places. The room was ok in terms of size but that’s about it. After a day’s walking we discovered upon our return that the... more

The hotel is located at the bottom of the Castle Hill. Two minutes walk to bus lines, ten minutes to the Metro station. Easy walk across Chain Bridge to center of city. Several good restaurants nearby. Rooms are clean and very quiet. The hotel provided breakfast is exceptional and will please any taste. Access to the hotel is not handicap... more

This hotel is ideally situated for those going on a weekend city break. It is on the Buda side of the river approx 400yds from the Chain Bridge. The hotel is modern and quiet. The breakfast is buffet style, and plenty of it. If there is a down side to this hotel is that they allow pets into the dining... more

The hotel is situated at a walk distance to Batthyany ter subway station, on an alley that goes up to the Royal Palace and Matyas Church. The hotel is also quite close to the Chain Bridge. All these three tourist attractions are very close to each other and one can reach them by foot. The room was small (see picture)... more

Well run hotel, large room (suite on the 4th floor, we were 3) well-heated and calm. Water did not drain very well in the shower, which was quite small but sufficient. I am not sure that this corresponds to a hotel 4 stars in France, but the comfort was okay (good mattress, household ok). The breakfast was generous and enjoyable.... more

Stayed for three nights from 30th April - 3rd May 2009. The rooms were great - although a little small - and had all that you would need. Decent bathroom. Very clean. The breakfast was excellent with a range of cereals, fruit, breads, cheese, cooked meats, eggs and sausages. The position was excellent - walking distance to the Fisherman's bastion... more

Good value, great location, comfortable rooms but seriously let down by fact that air con system does not function adequately. Rooms have large windows and temperatures when we were there were up to 27 degrees C and so room becomes like greenhouse. But air con has no effect on temperature in spite of fact that hotel advertises itself as having... more
