This hotel has great views and a great location but is otherwise disappointingly mediocre. I lived in Budapest for years and come back regularly to visit friends. The hotel is tired and warn. The bar area outside is not clean. It it is hard to track someone down to order a drink or a meal. In the executive lounge on... More

This hotel gave a beautiful view of the river and pest side of Budapest. The lobby was inviting at the end of a full day of site seeing. The staff is a bit impersonal but that is expected from a big property. The room is very comfortable and clean.

I just got back from a wonderful 4-day business trip to Budapest (which has sailed up on my lists as one of my top destinations now!) and I was fortunate enough to stay at the Marriott Budapest Hotel. I would say the location is pure perfection - the neighborhood is full of historical buildings, little cafées, pubs and of course,... More

Stayed for 2 nights. Nice and well furnished rooms. Bathrooms are ok. Breakfast - if not included in your rate - offers 3 choices : basic, medium and full range. I took medium (about 17 EUR). This gives you access to juices, breads, pastries, cold cuts, cheese, fruit, yogurt, muesli + hot drinks. The gym is facing the Danube. Well... More

The best part of this hotel is the executive lounge. It has all the amenities you would expect and a view you couldn't imagine. At night, the balcony view down the Danube is like nothing else...open air, soft breeze, lights like pearls illuminating the palace, the bridges, and everything scenic. I've stayed here several times and I will never stay... More

We spent two nights here before taking a river cruise. Beautiful hotel on the Danube. So convenient to restaurants and within walking distance of St. Stephen's and shopping. Great accommodations overlooking the Danube, nice and relaxing lounge too.

Lovely location and fantastic hotel. If you are partial to the Marriott brand and service the Budapest Marriott is the perfect hotel for you. My wife and I traveled to Budapest in late May and stayed through early June. We had read many hotel reviews but settled on the Marriott because we know the brand and because of the reviews about the VIEWS we had read on Trip Advisor; and the hotel's central location! We were not disappointed. We left Vienna early morning and... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
