Each room has a view of the river. Older Hotel but maintained well. Good train transportation at the doorstep. Awesome night views of the well lighted buildings across the river. Lobby a bit small and busy but comfortable room. Very nice views from the lounge upstairs stocked at certain hours. Nice boat trips from the docks below

This Marriott is extremely well located on the Buda side of the Danube right on the promenade and across from the castle which is lite up every night. Every room has a terrific view so you feel part of Budapest right away. It is handy for restaurants, sights and on the tramway. Rooms are standard Marriott-good but smallish but the... More

The hotel is centrally located with a great view of the river. The rooms are modern (with aircondition) and the staff is very kind. The choices at breakfast are vast and the food is good. When we were there though, a lot of river cruise travellers were there and it was therefore very busy and crowded at breakfast which was... More

Wonderful hotel, great service, good breakfast, fantastic location close to everything in central Budapest...but, horrible wi-fi connection! if you're a Marriott Rewards member (which is free), you get the wifi free each day, but you will have to sign in each day as if you're being charged and, even then, the reception is poor! However, that being said, I would... More

How this is rated lower, I don't know. This hotel is amazing! Sure the outside looks like a remnant of communism (i.e. industrial box), but if you don't need an outside that looks decadent, STAY HERE. It is right on the river with amazing views (see pictures). If you are Marriott gold, you have access to a FREE rooftop lounge... More

The best of Marriott Budapest besides the confortable rooms is that all rooms have Danube view with no extra charge, so you can enjoy the stunning beauty of the city any time from your room. It is just a minute walk from the Christmas fair of Vorosmarty ter and all the happenings.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times and it still is the best location in Budapest. All rooms have a view of the Danube. The rooms have been recently refurbished, nice but a little small but good for what we needed. If you can afford to stay on the club floor, the amenties are well worth it. There is... More

Located alongside the Danube. We understand all rooms have a view of the river. Our room, number 123, had an elevated one looking directly over it. Some would only have an up or downstream view. Friendly and efficient check in and out. Did not dine in the dining room but did enjoy breakfast. Some of the staff here gave the... More

Dear Kayjohn, Thank you for your review and for allowing us to serve as your host. I’m so sorry you were not made to feel welcome in the dining room. We work very hard to ensure we create a warm, friendly home away from home experience for all our guests; we obviously failed. We are happy to know that you... More

Lovely hotel within walking distance to the old town, shops and restaurants. The room was rather large for a European hotel with very comfortable bed and pillows. It is definitely worth paying the extra money for the breakfast buffet. A nice variety and quite good with an omelet bar.

Stayed for one week. I booked a corner room, according to my previous experience - 5 years ago. This time was even better, i found a lot of improvements in many areas. Carpets were replaced, some furniture as well. AC system was changed. Lobby was looking way better than before. Staff was very friendly. However, in Executive Lounge i found... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
