Couldn't have imagined a better time than with this hostel! There was always plenty happening. The staff couldn't have been better, they were amazing in including everyone and making us all feel as one big group and also gave advice if you wanted to go solo and do your own thing. Will remember this trip forever. Favourite hostel so far!

It's actually difficult to find the words to describe this place. If you're a backpacker in Europe, then this is the hostel for you. Every single person I know who has stayed here has extended their stay, or pushed back their transport so they get the most of it. December was my first visit, i booked for 4 nights, stayed... More

Really enjoyed my stay at the hostel, and met plenty of awesome like-minded people and wonderful staff. We were fortunate enough to met plenty of staff and in particular Gash made us feel at ease and made sure we enjoyed the beautiful city of Budapest. If you're looking for somewhere to drink, have fun, and meet some genuine people give... More

Yes, as my title says, the people, the vibe and the staff here will redefine your definition of fun, party, comfort and hospitality at this place. Till date, this remains my best stay in any hostel and any place I travel after this, I challenge them to be better then Carpe Noctem.. I am sure no one will be able... More

This hostel was great! The staff was very welcoming and super friendly. It's a social party hostel with a great vibe. The staff arranged different activities every evening, which was always a lot of fun! Highly recommended! Will definitely go back next time I'm in Budapest! :)

Brilliant hostel where you'll meet brilliant people and ripper staff. In particular, Gash was great at making us feel at home and making sure we had an awesome time in Budapest. If you're looking for the time of your life, definitely check it out.

This is the perfect kind of party hostel, where nights start with relaxed drinking with the awesome staff all getting involved, but then heading out before anything messy happens at the hostel! Perfect! With great staff (shout outs Wonk, Fables and Phoenix) that are full of local hints and tips, clean accommodation with good amenities, this has been one of... More

Stop your travels, put your life on hold, stay at Vitae and it'll be the best thing you ever do ever. Like ever, ever. Everyone and everything in this place is too amazing to be true. But it is. The staff love you like family from the moment you step in, especially that Miley kid, he gives good hugs. The... More

A group of us stayed in the Carpe Noctem Vitae hostel in Budapest for three nights in January 2016. The hostel is in an excellent location - within walking distance to many of Budapest's top attractions including the river Danube, Széchenyi Thermal Baths and many more. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful in organising different events both throughout the... More

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
