For 6 euros a night I was slightly skeptical, but after seeing the reviews I thought why not. Turns out it really is good value for money. The location isn't great, but there is good public transport nearby so not too much of an issue. It's clean, has a fully equipped kitchen and the wifi is excellent. I do agree... More

the hotel is 1-1,5 hour by foot from the centre / Keleti railway station, but close to the Zoo, Vidam park (which, unfortunately, was closed), famous thermal baths, beautiful park or the Heroes´ Square....Dennis was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and very nice. I appreciate the free towels. Would have appreciated towel for the floor in the... More

Completely baffled by previous reviews. Visited this hostel only two weeks ago and the photos on the website here and at other sites such as hostelbookers etc, do not match the actual hostel! The image of the modern tv room DOES NOT EXIST, instead we were shown the half plastered common room with dirty sofas. Red bedroom is also confusing... More

I hadn't expected much of this place given the extremely low price, so was very pleasantly surprised to find a fabulous hostel - Dennis and Anna are extremely friendly and welcoming, the location is not that central but easily accessible and close to some interesting places. Highly recommended.

If you are going to Budapest because of the baths, Lowcostel is just down the street. It's the best bath in Budapest. That's one reason to stay at this hostel. Low cost is another. It's clean, friendly, has a good kitchen and very helpful in finding places that interests you. Anna and Dennis were very knowledgeable. I would recommend this... More

Lowcostel is located a couple of kms by foot from downtown Budapest on the Pest side. It is very lose to the city park and a lot of attractions such as Scheneyi bathhouse, Hosok Tere, Vajdahunyad castle and so on. I am a walker, so the walk from the hostel to downtown area along Andrassi St was great in my... More

I was looking for a short and cheap vacation to Budapest. In the Internet I found that one for only 9€ per night. I didn't expected to much for the price. Even if the location is not the best, but you can get very fast and easy by public transport into the city. The owners are very nice and help... More

To be honest I don't know what I expected. The name "Lowcostel" brought to mind somewhere pretty poor and dirty. In fact, this place was incredibly well presented and clean. The bunks were great, the bathroom was very good, the lockers were good and the wifi signal was better than my one at home! My only real qualms were the... More

The price was excellent, very very good value for money, and for that reason I would definately reccomend Lowcostel. The Hostel itself is small, with only a private double room and one dorm, with a shared kitchen, bathroom, toilet and lounge (with satelite TV and WIFI), so it was kitted out pretty well. Only complaint was the toilet room was... More

No doubt about it: I've been very lucky to find this place, which btw I've booked almost "blindly", just according to the very cheap room-price! The location is very good: in a safe and quiet area, you have the tram n.1 (the "ring line") stopping right outside, the Mexicoi út underground station at about 5 minutes walk and the Zugló... More
