We stayed here wanting to be close to the city centre but not in a Main Street. The location was perfect for us a the bus connections to the centre we regular and easy, with tickets even for sale in the hotel at 350 ft for a single.

My girlfriend and I recently traveled to Budapest on our first journey their together. We chose to stay at the Danubius Grand Hotel that is located on Margitsziget (Margaret Island on the Danube in between the Buda and Pest sides of that wonderful city). We chose The Grand Hotel for its grand features: genuine old-world charm, helpful hospitality, very good... More

Great location on Margaret Island, beautiful view but the hotel is quiet old fashion. The children are not allowed to play in the swimming pool at all. The food (buffet) is ok but nothing fancy for the price. And most of all the service is really poor. The waitress cleared our dishes while we were still eating. My brother was... More

We had a great visit to Budapest in June 2014 and stayed at the Danubuis Grand a very fine traditional hotel. Our rooms all had balcony's and we had access to the adjoining spa hotel. The hotel is on Magarete Island in between Buda and Pest. Great breakfasts, ideal location and very reasonable. Would definately recommend this hotel in the... More

The department that I worked in had a conference at this hotel. Since it was my first time traveling to Europe, I really didn't know what to expect. The Danubius Grand Hotel Margitsziget was beautiful with an old world charm. It sits on a small island, away from the city center, so if you stay here and want to visit... More

After several stays in the next Danubius Health & Spa Hotel I decided to try this seamingly more luxurious Grand hotel on Margitszieget island. However, the Spa hotel is much better in my opinion. Grand hotel is old which is visible everywhere - in rooms, reception, dining area, a bit "smelly" in public areas etc. Wifi is for free only... More

We went here for a late lunch. The reception staff were very helpful and directed us to their cafe as we were too late for lunch in their restaurant. All was looking good at that point! However, my experience at the cafe was not good and did not reflect well on the hotel. I can't remember a time when I've... More

This is an interesting hotel, it reeks of grandness from a few years back. The hotel is located on the beautiful Margits island and is attached to the hotel next door with excellent Spa facilities. For anyone wanting to go to the city area though it is quite a decent (25 minute) walk, albeit through a beautiful park but you... More

The building is still one of the most beautiful in Budapest, in a huge historical park. We had a big cosy room with balcony on the back. The service is still very "soviet", no manners, lazy service, we got even sent brutally away from the restaurant over the week-end because of the privatisation for 2 weddings nobody told us about...
