This is really a fabulous place to stay in Budapest. The staff could not have been more friendly. Rooms were clean and breakfast was amazing by any standard. And the funkiest little pool area on the roof of the hotel makes the complete package. Perfect central location. Shops, restaurants, bars and transport links all within easy walking distance.

Myself and Girlfriend loved this hotel! Very modern style, great service at reception, really quick with check in / out, answered all our questions and gave great advice. The room was lovely, we had plenty of room and didnt think it was too small as many other people have said. We had a massage with was brilliant after a long... More

I enjoyed my stay here very much. The room was clean and spacious, the bed comfortable. The bathroom set up was open which was a bit odd but fine. The wifi was great and free. The breakfast was above average with many options. I had dinner at the restaurant and it was perfect. And it has an outdoor (and indoor)... More

The location of the hotel is convenient both for arriving with your own car and for exploring Budapest on foot. The whole building is rebuilt as a hotel quite recently and the rooms are cozy with modern amenities. The hotel has a nice looking restaurant, but in terms of food quality, there are plenty of better ones around the area.... More

The first time we stayed at the Continental Hotel Zara in the year of its opening after reconstruction. Its location is not bad, in a quiet street near the metro station Blaha Lujza and tram lines. The rooms are small, but light and clean. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast is standard, but the restaurant is too small for such... More

Friendly beautiful hotel in a great location. Rooms were clean, good size everything you could want and in a vibrant trendy location. Staff were all very kind and all spoke perfect English. We enjoyed the use of the pool on hot days and the breakfast buffet.

I stayed here for 3 nights on my own and found it conveniently located for walking to the river (about 20mins) or very close to the Hop on, Hop Off bus stop which I used over 2 days. The staff were friendly and helpful and the generous buffet breakfast sustained me for my days of site seeing. I felt comfortable... More

After reading the comments on tripadvisor, I was confident booking this hotel - I was disappointed. A lack of consistency with cleanliness/order. Despite the tip I left daily for the person that cleaned our room, there was dust on the floors, shower doors not cleaned, towels smelled terrible and always had to ask for face towels. They provide an outdoor... More

Dear independentVan, Thank you for your feedback both for your positive and negative comments. I am very sorry to read that you were not satisfied with the cleanliness of your room, although we have really high standards for it. As you can read in other reviews it is one of our strenghts. Regarding the outdoor terrace I have already made... More

We stayed at the continental hotel Zara in Budapest on a seven day city break this August. From the outside the hotel blends into the other buildings either side with only the sign, ornate upper facade and door staff to indicate its presence. You enter via a copper plate revolving door to be welcomed by friendly staff. The check in... More

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
