The loft hostel is superb for many reasons. Let me break them down for you. TIP 1: request a double bed! There are at least 2 double beds available in the dorms at the loft, for no extra cost. Send a quick email asking if you can bag yourself one of them, as if you're a seasoned backpacker like myself,... More

I really enjoyed the laid back feel of this hostel. Really great general hang out area. Chill place overall. The staff was super nice and helpful and the building is super cool. Great location. Works for all types of people but definitely a nice respite from the hostels where you get wasted all night and sleep all day.

Most hostels are just a place to rest your head a night, but this one offers so much more. The fact that its so small means that everyone gets to know each other and the staff are beyond helpful- the restaurants they recommended close by were amazing. There's a box of "free stuff" in the kitchen that people leave there... More

You can't beat this place. Conveniently located near two Metro stops and just a few steps from Vaci Street. Clean and comfortable dorm rooms, plenty of space, luggage storage, and a great kitchen. They'll even do your laundry! On top of that, it is a small hostel (three rooms), so it is easy to meet and socialize with your fellow... More

Usually when I go abroad, I get attached to the city, and the hotel/hostel is just a little add-on that you sleep in at night. Normally they're places you forget about pretty quickly. Not this one. The Loft Hostel did not only match my lovely experience of Budapest (one of my new favourite cities) but it ENHANCED it. The hostel... More

It's a wonderful place, very good located and with outstanding people. They were friendly and helpful. When we arrived, they spent 30 minutes explaining us where to go and the best places. They also offered a coffee, of course, for free.

The hostel location is quite central 8 mins walk from metro and Central Hall Market (food, supermarket. it is right next to the tourist street with restaurants and bars. It is located at the top and 4 th floor of a residential building. Inside the hostel, the place is kept quite clean with kitchen and two bathrooms. It feels more... More

Sheldon and Shane were really great company and great hosts. It was a very welcoming place and a homely feel. We all socialised and went out to Szimpla together. One of the best hostels I've stayed at!

If you are thinking about staying at the loft then do it! It has great atmosphere and is all around a really good time. My trip to budapest wouldn't have been anywhere near as good if I had stayed somewhere else. Upon arrival Sheldon gave a thourogh chat through the places to see and eat in the area which was... Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
