The hostel is tough to find with almost no sign. I was told this was the historic district and they weren't allowed to put up large signs, so make sure you know where you're going ahead of time, especially if it's late. The area is pretty quiet, a little south of where a lot of the main bars and shops... More

Stayed here as a couple this January in the double room which is essentially a self contained apartment with the bonus of having access to the hostel common areas too. Definitely the best of both worlds as the double is ensuite with loads of space, and then the hostel proper has all the things that are fun about a hostel:... More

I stayed here for a quick last weekend before heading back home after Christmas and I loved it. The location is perfect in the middle of everything in Pest and an easy walk from the underground station. It is in a quiet building up three floors (in a rickety lift) and then another set of stairs right in the loft... More

me and my mate stayed at the loft hostel back in july 2014. even though we were in budapest for the first time, we reached the hostel quite easy. take the metro in a certain direction and then walk the rest. as soon as we entered the loft we were greeted by the awesome reception girl. she cooked for us... I stayed here with my partner in the double room for a long weekend. I was surprised that we actually got an entire one bedroom apartment to ourselves! This came with a fully stocked kitchen with fridge, tea, kettle, cutlery etc. The bedroom was also quite large with a separate table and 2 chairs, a huge double bed and loads... More

The best hostel I have ever stayed at! First the staff was great, Maria and Danielle made me feel right at home. They always had suggestions of places to eat and things going on. Originally I was only going to stay 4 nights which turned into a week. I can't wait to visit again hopefully!

Great location, friendly staff, and an amazing atmosphere! Well worth staying here if you are a lone traveller as it is so easy to meet people. Within walking distance from most of the main attractions, and located close to a lot of great restaurants that the staff are more than happy to recommend.

Loved my stay at The Loft. The place is really cozy, and made me feel at home. The location is excellent, and the neighborhood map that they give when you arrive is brilliant, with lots of useful tips and great places to eat. Thanks Maria for the great map tour :) The atmosphere is laid back, and I met loads... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Loft. We were 2 girls in an 8 person dorm room. We loved the intimacy of the place, it was the smallest hostel we stayed in on our travels (think it sleeps 24 people). Everyone was really friendly, the hostel had a really homely vibe to it - very much a 'community' feel. My... More
