We spent 5 nights in this small, charming hotel in April, 2015. Our room was very nice and the location was perfect. We bought public transportation passes but rarely used them because we could walk to 90% of the places we were interested in visiting in 5-45 minutes. Budapest is a great city for walking! The hotel also has a... More

We stayed at the Gerloczy hotel for 10 nights May 2015, the hotel is beautiful. It is filled with charm, the room was perfect, room for all our luggage and more. Almost instantly we felt like we were home, the staff was fantastic. I celebrated my birthday there, my family had arranged for a beautiful fruit and goodie spread with... More

We returned from this hotel a week ago, after staying five nights there. Like all the previous reviews we just adored this beautiful hotel. We didn't see any of the other rooms, but had booked one with a balcony well in advance and we were not disappointed. Everything from the high ceilings and doors, to the beautiful wallpaper and plush... More

We had a fantastic and romantic stay at Gerlóczy. The best thing is, you are in the city center, sooo close to the most important sightseeing points! The Café is really traditional, with typically Hungarian "artistic uniqueness", with very nice rooms, I loved it! We had an Attic Room, it was so romantic, soo wonderful! i can really recommend this... More

I've stayed in a lot of hotels in Europe.. In Rome London Amsterdam Paris Amalfi Barcelona Prague.. But this little beauty takes the cake! Gerloczy is a small little hotel (abt 18 rooms only) in the heart of the beautiful Budapest. If you like old-school-charm and a beautiful yet quiet neighbourhood and still wish to stay in the middle of... More

We found this hotel through Rick Steves' books and website. It far exceeded expectations. The location is in a relatively quiet area near the shopping street, the Danube, the beautiful Synagogue, and is even within walking distance of a laundromat. The staff were all welcoming. The rooms were clean and the free minibar was re supplied daily. The best thing... More

+ wonderful, romantic, lovely decorated, good service etc. (see the other posts) + free mini-bar + located absolutely central - mandatory and expensive breakfast: 12E to be paid ahead, not refunded or transfered on other days if not fully "used" one day (break-fast a la carte, prices in HUF...), this system is for me a reason not to come back.

We found this hotel by visiting tripadvisor. It met all of our expectations. You could easily miss because it's on a small side street with no significant signage..The staff is low key, very helpful and very personable. Our room was lovely.A step back in time.High ceilings, period furniture and drapes.etc.A free minibar was unique in our travels. There is also a cafe associated with the hotel... The sort of hotel which you want to keep secret, so that you can be sure of a room when you go back. But frankly, they deserve to be full. It's small and friendly, with big investment giving a lift to all floors, effective triple glazing and air conditioning. Lovely decorative touches throughout, and an impressive spiral staircase Well situated... More

We had a very nice stay at this small romantic hotel with gently staff. Located in a quiet street in the center of the city you can reach every point of interest within a short time. Sitting on our balcony above the terrace of the restaurant in the evening was as romantic than in Paris.
