We stayed here for two nights in august 2015. Our experience started before arriving . We booked direct with hotel who picked us up from airport via taxi . Therefore good communication by e-mail . On arrival staff very friendly and gave good information . The room itself was very spacious and clean and traditional and boutique . Free mini... More

Fantastic little hotel in a quiet spot in the centre of (Buda)pest. Good sized rooms, clean and very nicely decorated and designed. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the cafe served great food, even better wine and was in a great spot for whiling the time away while watching the Neighbourhood go by. Very easy walking distance from main... More

I can't imagine staying elsewhere in Budapest. We stayed in the attic room and it was a beautiful, cool respite from the heat. The hotel is perfectly located for exploring the city and staff was friendly and accommodating -- they let us check in early after an overnight train. Breakfast is fantastic and don't miss dinner at the restaurant during... More

We stayed here in April. What a FANTASTIC hotel -- huge, beautiful, CLEAN rooms, incredible staff and delicious food. This is in a perfect location -- a short walk to everything far enough away from the tourist traps! I would never stay anywhere else in Budapest!!!

Although only a block beyond the commercial and somewhat tacky Vaci Street, the Gerloczy sits in a quiet location between two government buildings. It is less than a five minute walk from one metro station and is a five minute walk to Deak Ferenec Ter, Budapest's transport hub and the bus stop for Momento Park [well worth a visit]. However... My family just stayed in 3 rooms on the 3rd floor of the Gerloczy Rooms de Lux. We enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms are very nicely decorated - each one is a little different. The hotel provides soap and shower gel/shampoo from Lush, which was a nice surprise. Water, soda, juice, beer, wine and snacks are provided for... More

Traveled to Hungary and never expected to find such a great hotel for a limited budget..accommodations were superb, employees were very personable and the restaurant was fantastic!!!! Met the manager, Chaba, and he went totally above and beyond to make sure we had a great Budapest experience.

Lovely, well maintained small hotel in a quiet, but central and walkable area of Budapest. Very friendly, helpful staff and the fresh bread at the cafe is fabulous! Looking forward to staying at the Gerloczy again.

If you want all the glamour and glitz of a corporate hotel then do not come here! If on the other hand you want a truly exceptional and comfortable stay in a great location with lots of local atmosphere and charm then this is the hotel for you! The rooms are very comfortable - and although lacking a few essentials... More

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend. The booking was easy and the hotel arranged airport transportation which was nice. The staff was very accommodating (helped us book Parliament tickets when the internet was down.) The rooms were nice and the hotel architecture is stunning. Only downside is that the internet was pretty poor and the advertised "free"... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
