This is a different hotel experience, but a good one. The location in Budapest is terrific, quite close to the Dohany Synagogue, a stone's throw from a Metro station, and walking distance to restaurants. Breakfast is delivered to your room at the requested hour, the air conditioning kept us comfortable in August heat, and street noise is at a minimum.... more

The Budapest Karoly Central is a bit of a weird "hotel" in the sense that it doesn't look or really feel like one. The hotel is very nicely located for walks along the Danube and has quite a few sights nearby - with the Jewish Synagogue right across the street. Map or no map, I doubt if I would have found the hotel without the taxi driver (who charged us a fortune).
