We had the landlord suite. Beautifully decorated. Wonderful staff. They were very accomodating. Located in a beautiful valley, but somewhat of a drive to the capital. Try some of the delicious wines they serve with dinner. more

My partner and I like to joke about how we might complain at check-out when asked if we've had a good stay. The joke's best in a great hotel... maybe there was a dirty window, a dead plant outside, or only eight types of cheese at breakfast? How we struggled to compile our list at the Kendov Dvorec. Finally we... more
This hotel is a wonderful place in the beautiful countryside of Slovenia. About one hour from Ljubijana, Idrija is a quiet relaxing town. Although there is not much to do, it is a nice place to relax. The staff at Kendov is fabulous. They treat everyone like they are a special guest. The grounds are gorgeous and our room was... more
The hotel and grounds are beautiful. As previous writers have commented, the beds are hard - very hard indeed. We stayed in four hotels in Slovenia and this was the only one in which we encountered this problem. The rooms are charming, although dark, but that is the nature of the building. We stayed here for one night on our way to Croatia, having visited Bled, Bohinj, The Julian Alps, etc. and were very pleased we did. There doesn't seem to be much in the immediate area, but Kendov Dvorec is definitely worth a stay if passing anywhere nearby. The property, originally 14th Century, is charming in the extreme and our bedroom was... more
We stayed at the Kendov Dvorec for 3 nights. We received a very friendly welcome and were made to feel like part of the family. Our room was lovely, a nice view, plenty of space and comfortable beds. Dining in the restaurant was a great experience. The waiting staff were very knowledgable and helpful. The food and wine was first... more
The hotel is certainly different from the usual pastel modern hotel rooms. They all contain old traditional furniture. It does make the rooms rather dark and the beds were certainly on the firm side! I had a rather small room (D) with a vertical pillar by the bed which made it slightly cramped. However the bathrooms were modern and well... more
Came upon by chance whilst touring Slovenia by car in September, 2004. Hotel not easy to find but worth looking for. Very friendly owners who were rightly proud of their beautiful establishment. As soon as we arrived we were offered a (free) tasting of the new seasons wine - delicious! Our room was a small suite , very charming with... more
Travelling around Slovenia, me and my husband made a stop here last fall. Unfortunately, the hotel was full so we couldn't stay longer than one night. It's a beautiful manor house with very friendly staff. Loved the breakfast, especially the big persuto, which you still needed to cut on your own. It was not easy but very tasty. We stayed... more
