We spent 4 nights at Hotel Max in August 2014. The hotel is located near the cebtre of Piran, next to the St. George's Parish Church. You can hear the bells ringing. The room was small, what do you expect from bed and breakfast. Max is helpful and friendly, everything is happened as it was written.

We stopped @ the front entrance of Max B&B in the morning and communicated with the owner through intercom about the price, room availability, timing etc. When we came back could hours later at the time when room was supposed to be ready, Max (through intercom) told us that: - the price changed (got higher) - we could not see... We stayed for 2 nights and were made very welcome by Max, the owner. Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast room was lovely, even if we did have to put up with Max's singing!! But it was good (and rare) to have some background music. The hotel is located in a good part of town, very central and on a... More

Our family stayed with Max in June 2014. The location is easy to find on one of the main "streets" (closed to traffic other than scooters) about 2 minutes from Tartini Square. It is therefore convenient for everything you might want to do in Piran. We had 2 rooms (having a family of 4) which Max had arranged next to... More

Max was a good host - everything we needed was provided. Good location and lovely room with views of the bell tower. Breakfast each morning consisted of ham, cheese, bread, croissants, spreads and excellent coffee. Could possibly do with firmer and more pillows but that's just being picky! Would recommend this place.

Just spent two nights at Max's place. It's a great location right in the heart of Piran. Be aware that you'll probably have to walk up a fairly steep lane to get to the place, so I wouldn't do it with tons of luggage. My room was comfortable and looked out on the steeple of the church. The wi-fi signal... More

We had a similar experience - suddenly Max has disappeared. We booked Max Piran two months in advance. We requested information on finding the hotel, and got a kind of sketchy explanation that it was near the cathedral, but we figured OK, we have a map and we travel light, so we'll find it. As requested, we reconfirmed two weeks... More

Don't book this hotel if you want a place to sleep! We had to cancel our reservation for Max Piran through booking.com. We waited for two hours from 7-9pm, outside in the rain with a 6 month old infant, knocking, ringing the bell, calling the mobile and business phone, all at great expense to us, however no-one showed up. Everyone... More

We booked a room in early May, 2014. Confirmed by email that he responded to a few days before visiting. No special check in instructions. Arrived at 4:15 pm. Place was locked. No info about when someone would be back. Called both numbers--no response at either one. Waited two hours with our bags in the street. No one showed up.... More

Hotel Max is reasonably priced with a great location. Right up the hill - and then down the hill - is a beautiful stone beach on the Adriatic. The beach is definitely "clothing optional." About 50 percent of the people choose to sit & swim sans suit. The hotel is right on the street, so expect some late night noise.... More
