Firstly the plus points: (1) Free parking (2) Large-ish rooms (3) Convenient location. Now the bad bits. The exterior of the property looks like some semi-demolished 60's architectural nightmare. Part of it also operates as a youth/university hostel so perhaps the efficiency/service ethic is not considered to be so important. The larger double rooms face into a next door building,... More

Large rooms, central area ! The only inconvenience was about to find the hotel by car - as per pedestrian area is totally closed. However, the breakfast was the best one among a lot of hotels I have ever been ! If next time I am going to Maribor, I will choose this hotel for sure.

Very good hotel just in the earth of the old downtown of Maribor. The hotel is located inside the pedestrian area, so it is quiet and at hand for any kind of shopping. The hotel has a small private parking. Access to the pedestrian area is granted by ringing a bell aside the barrier closing the street.

Basically great location if you arrive, also by car ( they have their own parking area),: just need to be able to find the right bell to ring, to open up the pedestrian area, to let you pass. Room are spacious, clean and basic comfortable. Buffet breakfast is quite good with sweet and salty items. Free wi fi, but not... More

I actually booked this hotel before I realized it was in a pedestrian zone. Since I was driving a rental car I needed a place to park--which I saw was provided by the hotel. The only problem was getting to the hotel and the parking place! I don't know why the hotel doesn't provide information on where to find the... More

the best was that is in the center of the town. No parking place,noise...Very clean, bed mattresses, very weak wifi, bed quality TV. Breakfast was good with usual staff. if you want to sea the town may be is one of the best locations to stay.

I booked the hotel at the last moment so I didn't have time to check it out in advance. The rooms are very spacious, nicely furnished and completely new. The cleanliness was impeccable!!! The hotel is perfectly central and has a private parking space. It is not so easy to reach because it is located in the area closed for... More

The Hotel Orel is right in the centre of Maribor close to Maribor Castle. It is handy for restaurants and bars. However, the downside of this is that the hotel is very noisy. We stayed here for three nights. On the first night I was woken up by noise from outside the hotel continuously. On the second night I was... More

The hotel was ideally situated, the staff were friendly and the rooms were vert clean and spacious, althought the window blinds did not work properly so woken early with daybreak light. Breakfast was plentiful but was not impressed with sharing long tables. Free car parking was a bonus but finding correct access point from the city`s pedestrian zone proved troublesome
