My partner and I stayed for 1 night (a Sunday). We had a room on the 7th Floor (top) and had a brilliant view of the Drava. I think room 701 would have been even better as it was a corner room with both open sides facing the river. The room was great. The service was really great, the staff... More

Good modern hotel on the banks of the river...amazing views from the rooms and restaurant out over the ski resort. Rooms are massive...15 paces from bed to bathroom! Also very clean and well decorated. Breakfast is good with a very friendly Breakfast waiter, in fact all staff were helpful and friendly. We got good prices on the rooms but dinner... More

This mustard-coloured building might look ugly but what a diamond in the rough it was. In Slovenia’s second city with dead factories, abandoned shops and 18% unemployment rate, Hotel City Maribor at least brightened our mood even if the lobby was impractically designed – guests had to take a flight of stairs down from the reception to reach the lifts.... We spent 2 nights here and did really enjoy our stay here. Rooms are very bright, clean, modern. We were lucky enough to have one with views over the river. Very nice indeed. The location is perfect, 5 mins walk to the old town and less than 10 to the station. There is a great terrace with equally wonderful views... More

We stayed 2 nights at the Hotel City Maribor on Jun 2014, and it was exactly what we expect, it has 4 stars hotel services and friendly staff within a unique large rooms, all decorated in the spirit of the new modern style, combined with a soft charm and beauty, high quality and full attention to details. The location of the hotel is very good, next to the river and close to the old city centre. The rooms are spacious and new, but very impersonal. Except for the soap dispensers, there are no toiletries or tissue paper. It is a business hotel, we would not recommend it for families or for holiday. Wifi was free of charge,... More

We stayed in a superior room for four nights. The room was large and very comfortable. However, lack of some basic amenities and attention to detail spoiled the experience. There was only liquid soap provided which was almost empty when we arrived and not replenished for two days. There were no tissues, no body lotion and no shampoo. Breakfast was... More

The situation is really good. Just on the riverside. The hotel could renovate the rooms. They are really modern but they should put more effort to keep all the furnitures in good conditions. The paper of my room which is on the wall was a bit damaged. The rest was great. The attention was really good and the room completely... More

Stayed for three nights on a recent business trip. Hotel is fairly new. Nice sized room which was clean and comfortable although the bed was a bit soft for my back. Breakfast buffet was modest but more than adequate. My one evening meal there was fantastic and at an extremely reasonable price (€14 for an excellent multi course prix fixe... More

Downtown Maribor is, by night, a nice quiet place to take a stroll - and it feels incredibly safe (according to the local it is totally so). The Hotel City is right in the middle of that Downtown area. This is a modern and well-appointed hotel with a really good restaurant (especially for a hotel). The rooms are modern, with... More
