Close to a party area with alternative bars, this hostel is a former jail, with cells restructured by local artists: each one is unique and different from the others. Clean and run by helpful, friendly staff. One of the best hostels I've ever been! more
The hostel is located in a former prison that was very nicely redecorated. The former cells now serve as guest rooms. The whole hostel is full of art, each cell was decorated by an artist. The atmosphere is great, breakfast is good, the rooms and the bathrooms are clean, and we heard a wonderful concert in the courtyard one night. more
I stayed at Hostel Celica, Ljubljana, back in May 2007 and remember it as one of the worst hostels, I've ever stayed in (and i've stayed in quite a few hostels all across Europe). stayed at this hostel in june. first up it's close (5 mins walk) from the bus and train station. the area surrrounding the hostel looks a little dodgy with graffiti but seemed fine. the rooms are not the largest (old prison cells) but do the job fine and the beds are comfy. there are no curtains on the windows so... more
Two adults (one very pregnant) and child, we booked by email but but were only told when we arrived that we would have to pay for the extra bed if we were to avoid another guest sharing our (tiny) room, so not as reasonable as we had thought. Basically just felt we were in the wrong place. The Metelkova Meste... more
Do the guied tour, i think it is every day arround 3 pm and do not stay more than one night. Is a little noisy, but don´t forget we are in a youth hostel. We´ve stayed there just for the experience. more
