Like a previous review, we discovered on arrival that this hotel is split into 3 and 4 star rooms. This is not immediately noticeable. We stayed at the Hotel Astoria during the Masters European Swimming Championships in August 2007 and booked through the slovenian sport agency. The hotel is about 5 minutes from the lake and is really good value for money. our room was recently renovated and was lovely and clean and modern. Bled and the area surrounding it, is incredibly beautiful even with the rain. The Astoria is well-positioned up a slight hill conveniently near to the bus station. dont expect to be in the lap of luxury but a solid 3 star performer and hard to knock it given very reasonable price (we paid Euro30 per person for b/b) - kids were welcome. Rooms clean and not a bad size. staff helpful. Would stay again. more
