The hotel has some positive aspects, but several shortcomings make it uncomfortable for a stay longer than an overnight stay. Let me begin with the positive aspects. First of all, the unbeatable location, right in front of Warsaw Central Railway Station, which is only 200 metres away. From the hotel you can quickly reach any point in Warsaw by public transport, as no less than 10 different tram lines and 5 different bus lines stop near the hotel. Also bus 175, coming from the airport, stops 200 metres away from the hotel, with a frequency of one bus every 10 minutes, travel time 30 minutes, and price 4.4 Złoti, i.e. €1. Near the hotel there are all kinds of infrastructure necessary for a tourist or traveller, including bars, restaurants, currency exchange offices, shopping centres and supermarkets. The second positive aspect is the buffet breakfast included in the room price, which is certainly among the best in the Hamptons where I stayed; it is plentiful, very varied, tasty and prepared with excellent ingredients: a breakfast like those served in the high category hotels, with the only difference that omelettes are not served here. The third positive aspect is the good level of cleaning and maintenance, as well as the efficiency of all services. Now as for the negatives. The first, and most shocking to me, was the brutal denial of service I received from the receptionist upon check-in: "the room will only be cleaned every two days!" Since I had to stay for 5 days, I reacted harshly, because this is a lack of service that does not occur even in low-grade hotels. The receptionist then changed his attitude and told me, more accommodating, "but if you ask, it will be cleaned every day". Of course I asked for it, and I must acknowledge that the room was then cleaned every day. The second negative aspect is the lack of standard services which nowadays are common even in low category hotels. There is no refrigerator in the room. There is no computer in the "business centre", which appears to be a simple meeting room. When I asked if the hotel has wi-fi I was told that "if you need it come to reception and we will connect you", meaning that the service is not provided routinely, but only on request. The air conditioning temperature control in my room didn't work (or had been deactivated on purpose): I therefore slept all five nights with uncomfortably high temperature, and every attempt to lower it failed completely. Television has only 29 channels in total, most of them in Polish: non-Poles are left with only the news channels CNN and Euronews, with no entertainment channels. The third reason of discontent was security. The hotel is a high-rise building of approximately 18 floors, but there is no reception on the ground floor. To access the hotel, both registered hotel guests and newcomers need to take one of the three elevators starting from the ground floor. Registered guests in possession of an electronic key will then be able to go up to their room with the same elevators, without passing through any checks, while new arrivals are expected to disembark for check-in on the first floor, where the reception is located (second floor, according to the American counting system). However, in case that the newcomer does not want to check-in, he can remain in the elevator, and he will be taken by the other regular hotel guests to the upper part of the hotel, without being intercepted by the receptionists or other personnel. Actually, during my 5 days of stay I often found people in the elevator who did not have the electronic key that is given to all regular residents, or even had an invalid one. These people normally asked other passengers to use their key to take them to the floor of their choice, and, in one case, a person without a key abusively used my key without my consent: in fact, when I entered the elevator he stood ready near the elevator button panel and, as soon as I activated the sensor with my key, he promptly pressed the button for his floor. The repetition of these events gave me the feeling that the presence in the hotel of undetected intruders could not be ruled out. But maybe I was wrong. My other comments on the hotel. The rooms comply with the good Hampton Hotels standards: they are not large, but well designed and functional. The space is enough for a single person, but a little cramped for two people, especially if they have a lot of luggage. The beds are very comfortable. Drinking water, coffee and tea are replenished every day (or whenever the room is cleaned). The room is equipped with pressing facilities. However, my five-day stay was made uncomfortable by: 1) the excessive and non-adjustable temperature in the room, 2) the absence of a computer in the business centre, which is expected to be available in any hotel of the Hilton Group and I needed for carrying out some remote work activities, 3) the absence of entertainment TV for non-Poles and 4) my security concerns. …
