Many years ago the science of making hotels profitable was not so strong as today and there were no hotel chains like Ibis or Park inn. Owners of hotels attracted their clients by quality accommodation and real hospitality. In <Pod orlem> I felt like I live in 1920's or 30's and I can enjoy all the advantages of that time!... More

Pros: - The location in the heart of Torun, just 5 minutes away from the main square - Helpful staff - The building itself is very beautiful - Blinds on the windows, very good if you can't sleep with daylight on your face. Cons: - Wifi signal was quite poor in the room - No lift (a problem for disable... More

I absolutely loved this hotel. Location is perfect, right in the middle of the gorgeous old town of Torun, nothing in the town is more than ten minutes away. We walked from the train station, which is a good half an hour walk, and that gave us the most breath-taking introduction to the town, and its many spires casting perfect... More

Stayed here just one night. Didn't feel too welcomed by the guy behind the desk. The rooms are decent, clean. Best thing about the hotel is the location though: at the end of the street is one of the city gates and the river, the other end of the street connects to the main shopping street, which connects to many... Basically, the hotel is a run down old building not without its charm. Our room was very small with one of the worst bathrooms we have seen in this part of Europe (actual mold growing on the ceiling). Well, we stayed there for one night only so tried not to get bothered too much, besides, Torun is a beautiful city... More

Stayed 4 nights 20 April - 23 April 2013. The hotel was originally owned by a family of Jews who were arrested by the Germans in WW2 and sent to a Concentration Camp and standing outside the hotel it is easy to see how frightened they must have been to see the Germans coming down the street. In the Reception... More

This hotel is in a side street between the river and the city center - perfect location! We spent there one night on Easter weekend. It is really old, with squeaky floorboards, but it just adds to its charm. The staff is helpful, spoke good English. The room was clean, spacious, spotless, the bathroom as well - although it could... More

This is apparently one of the oldest hotels in Torun and is full of character. Personally, I do value character in a hotel. The reception area is kind of dark and mysterious (maybe due to wood panelling, I didn't pay full attention) with polite and helpful reception staff (and sweets!). A staircase sweeps up to the right beside a (very... More
