Used to the best in the city, now merely average, but if you like the old charm (some early 20th century, mosty post socialist) this is the place. It has got a spirit or genius, even it is not the beauty or comfort. Perfect location. Bad breakfasts. Dated but somehow charming

This hotel used to be one of symbols of Lodz. And it kind of still is - Lodz itself mixes great and not-so-great at every corner. And in the end you enjoy it. Try to book one of the suites - you won't get a similar room for that kind of money anywhere else. There location is perfect for tourists... More

I would have loved to be in this hotel 100 years ago and seen it in all its splendor, still as it is it is a fine place to stay. I just loved the dining room decor, the reception area and the friendliness of the staff which i might add is a feature of Poland, English hotel owners please take... More

I'd recommend staying at this hotel for its faded grandeur and it's excellent location. No longer what it once was (or once pretended to be), it's nevertheless clean, friendly and equipped with a decent (if unusually spacious) restaurant and small bar. Located on Piotrkowska, the central street of Lodz, it's surrounded by bars, restaurants and interesting walks. The rooms are... More

Situated on the beautifully restored and pedestrianised Piotrkowska street this venerable old lady has a majestic location in the heart of the shopping and night life areas. The ballroom remains magnificent even if the lobby is a sad mix of ancient and modern. The rooms are 'OK', beds fine and key - there is ample hot water!

Before anything i have to say that Poland really had an amazing effect on me, i loved the little bit i saw, i want to go back! This might explain in part why even though Hotel Grand isn't the greatest, nicest hotel in town, i really think it's great. When you enter for good and for bad it's like you... More

Grand Hôtel is a good surprise. Same if corridors need renovations, hall has little 60 century ambiance, need painting in certains parts, this hotel is very fine. in the best part of Lodz in Piowstroska street, staff was friendly and efficient, rooms clean and decent, breakfast room splendid and amazing and breakfast good and various. My stay was very good... More

There are better hotels in Lodz, but none as Grand as the Grand. It shows its age, but is not nearly as shabby and neglected as suggested in other posts. I found the bed room clean, as well as the bath room and the breakfast room. The hotel is ideally located in the center of Lodz, at the renovated and... More
