My first winter holiday and was awesome, I really enjoyed the hostel, warm. I met very nice people there and everybody was great. The staff are good and the hostel in general is clean! Good value for the money! The view from the hostel is simply amazing!

When my friends and I were looking for places to stay at while on holiday in Poland, one friend of mine suggested this hostel. I looked it up on travel blogs and websites to see people's reviews and seemed quite okay. When we landed in Krakow Airport at 11.15pm, we decided to stay there till next morning, then move to... Staff, as ever, make a hostel. Here is an example of what makes a hostel welcoming. Gemuetlich, bequem: maybe the Scots couthy means the same. Not exactly out in the sticks: Jaszczorowka is a wee straggle of a place 3km out of Zak (frequent minibuses). Beautiful Witkiewicz church at the bend of the road. Anyway, this log-cabin affair lends an... More

I really don't like New Year, so I thought I'd go to Poland instead of forking out all of my money in London. The staff at Goodbye Lenin were really lovely; exceptionally helpful. The hostel isn't easy to find, but is in a great location- about 10 mins walk from both the main square and Jewish Quarter. It was a... More

This is one of the nicest hostels I have ever stayed in. It is so comfortable and has such character. There is a nice bbq and a swing. It is the perfect hostel to relax in amongst the beautiful mountains. I really enjoyed my stay and will be back again someday. The people who come are usually friendly and nice... More

We stayed for 1 night. The very nice wooden house is situated directly next to a forest, so it has a cool High Tarta atmosphere, and it is in a very calm and silent place. So it is not really in the city center. We went by car, and there were parking slots directly next to the house. A lot... More

My first review! After a long day's hike, nothing could beat the feeling of sitting amongst friends in a warm log cabin. I had an excellent stay in this hostel. The staff are young, friendly and knowledgeable and helped me with mt first hiking experience by providing maps and much needed advice which only a local can give. The positioning... More

Just spent the most wonderful 4 days at Goodbye Lenin Hostel. It is hard to find and "off the beaten track" but well worth searching for. The place isn't very well sign posted and you must walk all the way to the end of a track to find it, tucked behind another similar looking lodge. The hostel is basic but... More

This place deserves all the good press it gets. We were two Aussies travelling around and found this place by chance on TripAdvisor. The place is cosy, warm, clean, comfy and when you've been on the road for weeks, it's invaluable to find a place that feels a little like home. Absolutely stunning surroundings too. The owner/receptionist, Marjena, was so... More

Had a great week at the Goodbye Lenin. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, organising transport, helping us order food and generally just being friendly and welcoming. We were a large group of 12 but they were always more than happy to help out with whatever we needed. The breakfast was fantastic value for money and there was always... More
