I've just returned from a trip to Krakow, taking in an overnight ski trip to Zakopane. I was really pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Yes, it is a distance from the town centre (2 km is a looong way when it's - 10 degrees outside!) but it's a stone's throw from the ski lifts. I was most impressed by the... more

We stayed at this hotel while on a tour. We arrived at night and were pleasantly surprised when we looked out the dining room window the next morning. The view of the mountains is exquisit. this view, alone, would make it worth the stay. more

Good quality large hotel positioned right at the ski lift and 20 mins walk from centre of Zakopane.Good choice of breakfast buffet and choice of on site evening eating, but save money with a walk into town. Friendly staff and cheaper prices than the more established areas of Europe. Stayed on the 7th floor with views over the slope, other... more

I was very disappointed by this hotel. First, the hotel is quite a distance from both the town centre (2kms) and the bus station (3kms). That said, if you visit during the winter, it is conveniently located next to the chair lifts for ski. A shuttle bus does exist on the hour from the hotel to the Town Centre, Bus... more

From the start, I received good customer service here. I emailed to confirm our reseravation and received a reply within 24 hours. Upon check in, the front desk offered to upgrade our room with a better view...for free:-) We have a magnificient view of the mountains! Rooms are well spaced and clean. Great bathroom! Staff is friendly and very helpful... more

I have stayed in this hotel many times. Rooms are nice, most remodeled, nice view of mountains on one side. For some bizzare reason taxi stop was cancelled in front of the hotel and now the business is done like 30 years ago in Bulgaria. You want to go somewhere - you tell that to the receptionist and wait. It... more

My family stayed at the Mercure in February during a trip to Poland. Zakopane was lovely -- lots of snow, good skiing, sleigh rides, interesting crafts fair in town, and a lively pedestrian mall downtown. Apparently the Accor head office must have visited between our stay and the earlier reviews posted here, because we found the hotel to be well-managed,... more

Located 3 Kms from the town centre on the foothills of the mountain range which separates Poland from Slovakia, this hotel is in a beautiful location. There is a chair lift outside the hotel which will take you up one of the hills. We stayed in the hotel 2 nights of Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 August 2004. It was... more

Located in an attractive setting on mountain slopes about 3Km from the centre of Zakopane. We stayed 2 nights Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 August 2004. The former Orbis hotel has been acquired by the Accor Group and rebranded as one of its Mercure hotels. The rooms have been upgraded and are comfortable, and the restaurant served us a tasty... more
